I'm fine with writing a guide up if I'm honest. I could do that today as well.

Okay, sorry guys. Really busy here after cleaning out all of the reported posts and whatnot.
Anyways, a few things to say: 1. Please don't discuss who the forum moderator will be. Yes, there will most likely be one appointed because I do have a whole section to tend to (even though this is the only one that requires that much attention), but this just isn't the place. 2. Featured Gang: It'll be up and running soon enough. But if any trust-worthy member wants to PM me with a suggestion, go ahead. 3. How to Make a Gang thread is a good idea. But, I don't know if I'll make it or have somebody else do it. Also, I don't know if it'll be a separate thread or just be included with the rules. Okay I know I missed something, so feel free to tell me. ------------------- Thousands turn out to protest global warming.

I wouldn't mind helping write up some rules or something. I usually have plenty of spare time.
Maybe we could start Featured Gang in December. -------------------

Guide To Gang Making [»] Are you ready to make a gang? This may sounds weird at first, but are you really ready to make your own gang. It may seem at first to you that it just looks as if it is all fun and you will just lay back and relax, well unfortunately to become a successful gang (which I suppose you do) then it's much more to that. You need a few skills to be a good leader; organization, and politeness being major one's. Also, a lot of time will be needed to put in for your gang to be successful. You will need to make sure that all your members are happy with what you as a gang are currently doing. After reading this, if you still feel like you have the qualities to become a gang leader and create your own gang, then read on. [»] Uniqueness This for me is without a doubt the biggest factor to a successful gang and an unsuccessful gang. This can be quite challenging to have a unique gang, but with the right thinking you can easy achieve this. If your gang has just ripped-off a successful gang name, then you will not be successful and members will see this straight away and just basically not want to join. Within the gang, you will also want to try and be unique. Setting up unique tourneys, games etc. involving the game will attract new members to join and will get you on the right road to becoming a successful gang. [»] First post The first post of your gang is very important. This first post could actually affect how many members you will get in your gang. YOU MUST make your first post organized. An example of this would be here and here. You must to try and include in your first few posts;
quote What your first post shouldn't be That's not very attractive, and is just plain with no color etc. To make your first post even better you could also have a header (Picture at the top of your gang) This picture would represent your gang and would basically be a sort of symbol for your gang. It is not needed as important as other things mentioned, but it would make your gang seem more organized. Color can be very effective to your first post but is without a doubt not needed, but if you are able to use it well, then it looks much better then plain writing. Useful links are at the bottom to help you with that. [»] Members Before you even post up your gang, you will want to make sure you have at least three people that will join your crew. This isn't a must, but it's a brilliant head start for your gang. It's nice to have members for your gang from the start to keep it active, which I will talk about in a minute. If you have members posting in your gang from the start, people will notice you and consider joining your gang. When you first start recruiting members, you would probably need them to fill out a little form with information on Animal Crossing City Folk. Just give a little guideline in your first post which new members should fill out. This form should say; quote Application form new members should fill in When a member has filled this in, then (with your consult) that member would now be a member of your gang. You will want to know also add them to your members list. What you expect from your members is up to you, but I highly suggest that every member in your gang is active. What I mean by this is that all the members are posting nearly every time they can. If a member isn't active in your gang, what's the point in them being there? I would suggest you just get rid of inactive members. There is no limit of members that can be in a gang, so the limit is up to you. I suggest you limit your gang members to around 20 as when gang's exceed that number of member's, things start to become a little hectic. [»] Useful Links HTML colors Mark-up Guide Forum rules Requests, Feedbacks and Suggestions Thats the How to make a gang guide I just made quickly. If anyone has any improvements please tell me as I don't think it is finished, but I'm not sure what to add. Circe, could I add this to the forum rules?

Yes, It's a good tutorial.
quote Daniel_SmithGood Job with this, because I've seen lots of this in other Forums as well. And it reeks. I was hoping to say that here. Thanks. Circe, like you said what you missed. I was explaining later somewhere on Page 5 if the gangs could have a limited amount of members(sorry guys). On other forums it gets to crowded and so the mods couldn't control this. Sooner or Later, these forums are going to happen the same thing. You think this is possible. I mean your the only one to be able to do this. I say around 15-20 members you can have more or less if you want as long as the Gang leader can control there crew.

Once again, somebody is going to shoot you down. Did you learn nothing from our responses before. There are many reasons why that is an unnessesary idea. We can not control who joins whos crews. It is the peoples decisions, not your's nor Circe's. "Forcing" a limit will not help your gang in any way, and why should a rule as big as that be passed for the sake of your gang? If people WANT to join your gang, then they will, if they dont, they wont. The leaders of the gang can set their own rules, and nobody should be forced out of a gang because of a rule stopping them.
Let the leaders of the gang do their jobs, and let the mods get some responsibility off their backs. =/ -------------------

I'm not doing it for my gang. It's just a fair way as I see in other forums with limits.
Also, I was speaking to Circe this time around.

Listen, a moderator has only as much power as the members they are running. If 95% of us are going against this (like we are) Circe will please the needs of the people on the forum. (although sometimes thats not the case)
Im not saying a limit is a bad thing, but let the leaders decide on that because I doubt any crew will have a limit of over 20 members. =/ (maybe even 15) -------------------

Daniel_Smith's tutorial has been added to the rules. Looks very, very nice. A few grammar mistakes and a few bits that are worded incorrectly, but that can be fixed very easily. Good work.

If a gang has way too many members, then I can step in. But ultimately, it's not my place to force any gang to have a certain amount of members. Sure, maybe some day a time will come when one or two gangs run rapidly out of control, and I'll PM the leader to limit their amount of members. But, many popular gangs will be run by very responsible leaders, who will manage to control all of their members, keeping the gang neat, organized, popular, and successful. And, like Jenn said, most gangs don't allow much more than 20 members anyways.
And thank you very much Daniel! Saves me a lot of time. Credit was given, and if you'd like to update it at any time, just send me a PM. ------------------- Thousands turn out to protest global warming.
