So what did you guys think of the third mission in the game ( I think it's the third one anyway )

I just got my copy today and played up to that mission. I also noticed how you had the option to skip it. Basically, it's you being undercover for Makarov and you literally kill every single civillian at an airport.

First of all, it's an amazing mission because of the action, graphics and just sheer brutality. Honestly one of the most insane and controversial missions I've played.

I don't get offended by playing the "bad guy" but I'm pretty sure a lot of people will. I think it's a nice touch because you are actually realising what Makarov will do to get his own way.

What are your thoughts?

(Also, I got the game and it is *bleep*ing amazing. Seriously, I can't see myself not playing EVER again. Cliffhanger was just awesome too)

Lol, I don't think it's that bad but a couple of my friends were annoyed that IW shoved it in the game so I was just wondering whether IW went too far or whether it was alright.

I liked the mission.

I've heard there are a few missions that people think IW didn't need to put in the game. I for one am all for the brutality, so I'd no doubt enjoy this mission, even if it wasn't needed.

I played the mission and to me it was pointless, just an excuse to go in and cause carnage. Fair enough GTA is a lot worse, but that serves a purpose, this didnt.

I thought it was quite shocking but i suppose it shows why the Russians get so upset, maybe just saying it wouldn't have had the impact. Loved the getting shot part too, was a nice shock.

The mission is actually a central moment in the game. You infiltrate Makarov's unit, you are doing it on behalf of Task Force 141. You are getting close to Makarov as a means to track him and find out how he ticks. He coins on to your deception or just wishes to travel light and kills you. After the mission "Soap" MacTavish is on about how Task Force 141 and the C.I.A are now lost with no leads and nothing to aid them which leads you to the following mission tracking down Alex Roja.

So in light of the actual purpose of the mission I don't find it shocking. I actually found the actual mission fun and enjoyed the role playing aspect of getting to be a terrorist. It was enjoyable watching a civilian squirm and fall over screaming with the fear in their eyes. Shooting them in the throat only for them to crawl leaving a trail of blood before bleeding out mere yards later. It was harsh and brutal, but it made me feel the terror and the pure evil of Makarov and his unit more than any video would have done.

The first game starts with you as President Al-Fulani which leads to the opening cinematic of Imran Zakhaev's Russian Ultranationalist party, hunting down and executing civilians in cold blood. While this was a powerful scene it was from a third person I felt detached and thus Zahaev and his son Victor weren't as evil as they were made out to be. Now through this it isn't a video, I saw what Makarov did first hand I was just as bad as Makarov. It makes it far more powerful and immersive and the fact it actually unites the story and gives you a means to carry on makes it almost the most necessary evil ever commited to media.

It felt really wierd but once you get out side the airport you end up killing the cops which is not that bad.

I thought it was a brilliant way to set the story.

I was like when I saw all the people "WOAH WTF'S GOING ON HERE?" and then they started to kill people and I was left with like no one.

This mission is horribly beautiful just for the fact how many people you kill.
