DLC or a Sequel? *Ending Spoilers* |
|
So know we know Shepard is dead, but Makarov is still on the loose. Does the stuff that Shepard did make Makarov less of the bad guy? Regardless of the whole massacring civilians stuff, of course. :L
Also, when you're in the white house, one of the soldiers says, "So, when are we going to Russia?". Do you think that'll be some sort of DLC or will it be Modern Warfare's 3 story? One thing I'm confused about: ------------------- ![]() Armed and Dangerous

I'd be surprised and disappointed if they added to the story with DLC. It would just be them fleecing an already safely woolled up market. I'd rather they just brought it into Modern Warfare 3, as then there's likely to be even greater improvements to graphics and the like (although that's pretty hard to do considering how good graphics, gameplay, etc. are now). I'd rather spend another £45 in 2 years time than £10 in 2 months simply because IW knows that we'll spend that money to find out what happens next in the story.

I'd hope they would carry on the story in a sequel tbh. It would be a bit of a "*bleep* you" to the fans if they finished the story in some half arsed DLC rather than another fully fledged game.

quote ShaneAs far as the world goes no one knows of what Shepard did. Price went on record in his suicide message of sorts to give his turn of events. We aren't entirely sure if that was actually sent out as Price and Soap were fugitives at that point. So as far as the story goes Makarov is still the enemy although, he was never announced as a focal point. As the US Rangers think the Russians just started war and Task Force 141 were essentially sent on a wild goose chase by Shepard. As what I think Shepards game was, was once intel on Makarov was secured and Task Force 141 was out the way he could then go on a fight on terrorism and become the hero weeks later when Makarov was found. That didn't happen so who knows. quote ShaneI personally think that line merely hints towards Modern Warfare 3, though I do not think that it will be as simple as US Rangers going to Russia to kill soldiers, that probably will happen, but I believe more of the focus is going to be on Soap, Price and Nikolai living as fugitives. As always Infinity Ward have set up Modern Warfare 3 to have a nice split story arc following multiple people. Although I feel Modern Warfare 3 will be a far slower game than the 2nd if they focus quite a bit on the whole fugitive angle they have created for themselves. quote ShaneCaptain Price went rogue for the good of America. The scene was set before the mission even started when Price cut off Shepard. It gave an earlier insight on what Price wanted to do, he wanted to make a BIG bang. He obviously didn't tell the rest about since it as far as they knew they were hijacking a submarine not launching a nuke. So yeah, Price went rogue and cut off communications to the rest of his team and kept them in the dark for the whole mission. Whether it comes out why he did it in the next game or the reasoning for him being in Gulag prison for several years is unknown, but the thread is there in the story to be built on. I Elos I Post Reply quote I Elos IFor this you need to find intel. Basically the core game takes up about 50% the rest is intel and any other collectables the game may have. I was wondering the same and to be honest it's the only thing that makes sense as Spec-Ops and Multiplayer are split into their own tabs with their own unique percentage. quote I Elos II think you could take it re-writing history though I personally believe it was Infinity Ward having fun. If you haven't already go to mission select and at the bottom is "Museum", it's a little playable level within the museum shown in the end credits. It's pretty fun and very hard to stay alive... ------------------- ![]()

Ah thanks a ton. One more.
Are the US and Russia still at war at the end of the game? It seems the US, at this point, seems to know they were set up (or maybe not--perhaps I'm mistaken). Are they still at war? Would be interesting to see a part 2 to all of this. And was I the only one who was like "Damn man.." when you were attacking the White House, and like everything was on fire? I didn't mind, it was a video game--but still. It was kind of creepy, IW did a great job of making this seem realistic. I loved defending the Burger Town, it was giggly for me, "DEFEND THE BURGER TOWN, NOW!" I'll stop ranting on though, haha, appreciate if the first part can be answered to my writing binge here.
| |

quote I Elos IAs far as we are aware the conflict ended when Private Ramirez and Sergeant Foley among others lit the flares and stopped the carpet bombing of Washington DC. I am not really sure if that is the end of all attacks as the US Ranger campaign ends there we never see Ramirez or Foley again. I assume though that the assault on US soil is over once Russian soldiers fail to seize the White House fully. quote I Elos II am not a US citizen so I thought I would feel really detached as I am not the biggest fan of America. Nothing against the citizens just the government mainly, but playing through it I really did feel quite emotional. I think it has a lot to do with the whole iconic nature of the buildings and seeing what is normally tranquil and almost perfect looking, look so dead and massacred. Maybe I was just that immersed the first time I played it but it was a chilling and rather sad moment in the story, something I hope never happens in reality. ------------------- ![]()

I'd love to have DLC add to the story, just for the fact that I wouldn't want to wait another two years just to find out what happens next.

Makarov might be the unlikeliest of allies in the next game as far as Soap, Price and Nikolai go. As fugitives they are going to need help and Makarov may be the unlikely one to do that. Yes they are enemies but both partys share the same fate, they are both being hunted down by the same enemy, America.

I think Makarov is the prime suspect for allies in the next chapter of the story. You heard what Price said to him on the comms in the second last mission, "The Enemy of my Enemy is my friend". They're both working towards a common goal, and he's pretty much the only person who would be on their side now.

I think they should make a DLC of a MW2 version of Nazi Zombies
Looking at the CoD5 forum Nazi Zombies seems to be a more discussed topic than the main multiplayer so if Inf Ward released a DLC of something like..I dunno...Russian Zombies? The game might have more people staying on it when they reach 10th prestige ------------------- Happy

re: DLC or a Sequel? *Ending Spoilers* |

currently i dont really care for the spec ops section, maybe it'll grow on me, but i came here to offer my veiws on the story...
i think there is plenty of story left for a full blown sequel, i dont see personally where the war between america & russian is anywhere near over, hell, i dont really think the invasion is over, just blunted... also, as pointed out, makarov is still out there, dont know about him being an ally to price & soap, that enemy of my enemy bit was to help get rid of shepard i thought... i think the war side of the story has plenty left, but i dont know how they will spin the story of the one four one, assuming 2 men r enough to still call them that... as for TF141 being fugitives, not so sure bout that, didnt shepard kinda keep them under his hat so to speak? so not many if any body knows about them, esspecially now that shepard is dead... i draw this from the trophy that hints that TF141 is "shepards elite squad"... as for price launchin the nuke, i believe he did it, and knew he was gonna, b/c of what he said about snuffing a fire with a bigger fire, it exploded b4 impact with earth, like in the stratusphere, and the resulting EMP wave gave the americans a chance against the now stunned russians.... i think thats it...so i just wanted to say this b4 i end my post, maybe someone will get a chuckle.... star!.....STAR DAMMIT! lol -------------------
