I find it majorly ironic.

TOM's original VA was Steve Blum, Well known for the voice of Spike Spiegel. At the very end, as TOM is flying away he says "Bang" just LIKE Spike at the end of Sympathy for the Devil, and Real Folk Blues part 2

Made me go

How exactly is that ironic?
The fact that it was ending the same way as Bebop? Ironic, symbolic, whatever. Is it really necessary to nitpick on minor things?

RIP TOM ;_;
I almost cried when it was over. Nostalgia is a bitch. >_< *Reminisces about Zoids Zero and such*

re: Farewell Toonami (1997-2008)

I got pissed when I saw this. I kinda paced around my friends house for 10 minutes out of agrivation. granted toonami has not had the greatest shows in a while, seeing how naruto is in filler. But I grew up on it and loved it.

any word on what will take it's place?

re: Farewell Toonami (1997-2008)

Probably the same shows replaying but not im a named block.

My favorite episode of Samurai Jack was on

The episode where the Bikers distroy Jack's shoes and he has to go find new ones.

Heh, his Geta remind me of Mugen and his "Viva la Steel lines shoes(And viva my own damn strength)"

re: Farewell Toonami (1997-2008)

So Toonami is dead?

Sorry, that joke's probably been done.

Well, in Australia Toonami had a few shows eveyday I think (I don't have cable) but it was mostly mass produced anime (Pokemon, One Piece, Zatch Bell) don't they reserve the better ones for Adult Swim?

Also, how many people watch anime on TV anyways?

All that aside, goodbye Toonami.

re: Farewell Toonami (1997-2008)

Man... Toonami got me interested in anime in the first place. It shall be missed (even though the only thing they've shown relatively good lately is Naruto filler). Argh, I remember watching Sailor Moon, Ruroni Kenshin, and Outlaw Star on Toonami and absolutely loving it. I saw the final transmission and it shall be missed.

Wiki confirms that Toonami's shows (such as Naruto) will move to an unnamed block on Friday nights.

re: Farewell Toonami (1997-2008)

He was TOM 4.

The Toonami staff found out that it was being cancelled that day, so they really didn't have time to do anything significant. TOM's ending speech was all I needed to hear.

Toonami's what got me hooked on Sailor Moon... It's a shame that it'll be leaving.

re: Farewell Toonami (1997-2008)

I remember putting off homework to watch shows on Toonami even though I haven't watched it in a while I'm a little sad to see it go. It also introduced me to anime and got me addicted to reading manga.
