I want to ask something why is it illegal to watch anime online?
I mean the only reason I watch online pokemon the anime is because Jetix and disney XD won't stop reppeating the same episode and mixign it up. I mean seriously every time I was pokemon on TV is alway the same reppeat episode, they showing the stupid walic cup contest. Seriously they just mix the episode up and put random its annoying. The channel is UK I don't know why watching anime online is illegal I mean people wouldn't watching online if the channel know how to put the episode in order and stop reppeating too much. @Super Michael - Because there are no ads to generate potential revenue.
Like with Movie theaters, if they put recorded video on the net, and everyone used that, they'd just skip the ads (which are a source of revenue for the theaters), and of course, you wouldn't be buying their overpriced food, which is also a source of income for them Basically, it's the same thing with illegal copies of games, they aren't receiving money when the anime is illegally DLed/streamed. To put it in perspective, say you created a work of art, and it was shown at an exhibit (IE: TV/theaters), and you got a percentage of the exhibit's earnings, based on how many people viewed your art. If people just viewed say, pictures/videos of your art work, you would have lost out on that money. Reproduction sales (IE: DVDs) would be affected if everyone just found free copies of your reproductions on the net. Though there ARE legal places to watch it online (and for free), and one in particular is popular, is CrunchRoll. Studios are slowly making the move to the internet streaming/DLing of anime, as a way of making money. ------------------- | |
