I don't watch anime or read manga as much as I used to, nor am I as interested as I was in this form of entertainment as a whole for that matter. However, before I ceased to watch anime and read manga altogether except for a select few ongoing series, I have begun to take note of two elements that seem to be becoming more prevalent in anime and manga--incest and pedophilia. It seems to me that an increasing number of them are condoning this behavior (even if it isn't so pronounced), which is even part of the reason my interest in anime and manga has diminished.

Well, while this is becoming quite prevalent in many anime, it doesn't mean at all that it's in every sing one of them. At the same time I can understand your view and I somewhat agree. I dislike Incest and PedoPhilia as well.

Main anime does not concentrate on that. I've actually seen more pedophilia in American TV today then in anime.

 In all seriousness, in pretty much every occasion of 'incest' I've come across in Anime, the 2 are either not related by blood, cousins(which is perfectly normal in Japan), or simply played for laughs. Not so much incest and pedophilia, but I do see quite a few animes that seem to show lots of lil boys naked... LOL

As I said, different culture, different humor..... While in many peoples views, especially in other countries, it may certainly look like blatant pedophiliac tendencies, But I would like to think that most anime/manga creators/authors aren't pedophiles themselves.... Most of the time they do that, it is in a somewhat humurous, if not blatantly silly situation....
I just don't think about it in that context... But even if they are pedo's, I don't really care either way.... You don't see a lot of it in mainstream anime, especially not outside of Japan. The cousin lovin' is, as someone said, normal (or at least acceptable) in Japan, so that can be discounted.
The only notable exception I can think of, is Koi Kaze. The show (an OVA, and a manga) also has pedophilia implications, but mostly incest. Lolis are getting more popular, that is true, but outright pedophilia? Not so much (outside of ecchi/hentai manga/anime).
