Anime/Manga Crossover |
|
I always end up watching the anime for something first but I hear how good the manga is so I go to read it, and since I already know what happens it feels like I'm just hearing the story over again. Is there away to get around this? Because I really like the art in manga.

Its always good to read the manga as well as watch the anime. Often you'll find that one episode of the anime will massively condense an entire manga volume so you'll miss out on quite a bit of the full story. Some anime also suffer the "filler" problem where they've caught up to the manga in story (or close to caught up) so they add meaningless nonsense to fill the time until they can start back up with the storyline. Happened a lot with DBZ and Naruto (to name a few). Also, sometimes, anime will suffer the problem of ending a series short and completely butchering the manga's story (i.e. Negima). Hell, sometimes the anime and the manga turn out to be almost completely different in terms of plotline. So, whether you read first or not you should definitely read as well as watch if you want the "full" experience... IMO.

I believe full metal alchemist.
both the manga and the anime were alike. up to episode 29. then the anime deviated and brought in "original characters" (wrath and Dante to mention some) the gantz anime ended right after the "Buddha" mission with a filler arc, and ended differently, while the manga had only really started after the Buddha mission (thats what I think) with vampires and more characters. usually, the manga is superior, but the anime would have had more potential. to mention one of those. tsukihime was originally a visual novel, in 2003 it was adapted to an anime, and it had many faults, mistakes, and stuff that made no sense. while the manga provided a much better telling of the story, and more true to the original. I always check out both the anime and manga of something ------------------- you lost the game!
