Wrestlemania 24 wasn't the great event that the WWE wanted it to be, during the final moments of the Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair match- which got placed as (Career Threatening Match) a bolt of lightning from thunderstorm hit close to the ring causing everyone ringside to get knocked out as a result of the force of the strike. With the power in the arena out moments before the ending of the what had been a great event, the arena turned into a 70,000+ stampede of blind confusion.

When the lights came back 5 minutes later on EMT's were on the scene taking injured fans and staff to hospital.

A press conference held on Monday by Vince McMahon stated that WWE will be taking care of all people injured by the freak accident. However the WWE would not be in operation until May 1st. During the month of April many meetings were held deciding what to do with the WWE product. It was decided that the companies direction was getting stale and it was time to bring back the spark that had dimmed long ago.

Vince made the decision to vacate all titles and even suspend the Women's, Cruiserweight and WWE Tag Team Titles. This left:

World Heavyweight Championship
WWE Championship
ECW Heavyweight Championship
Intercontinenal Championship
United States Championship
World Tag Team Championship


There were some hirings and firings, all of which would be announced May 1, just 1 day before the return of WWE broadcasting which was scheduled to be Smackdown.

Shawn Michaels & Ric Flair went to a no-contest due to an divine intervention.

Just giving the heads up that the rosters are now up. Expect a show preview or something in a day or two.

The fact that you've signed Christian means that you've got one reader straight away, hopefully he can make ECW a brand by itself and not just an extra hour of Smackdown basically. Also, I like the backstory, it's meant that you can get rid of people, titles and hire people without it just happening out of the blue. Also, the fact that the Flair Michaels match never finished means that you can continue the Flair storyline for a couple more months hopefully.

Also, it's divine intervention, not devine intervention.

Before I get this well and truly underway I was just hoping to get a few opinions on show writing.

I'm thinking of going with a new style (for me) by posting a short description of each match but have segments more detailed. Thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea, especially for WWE. Segments are the focus of their shows, really. Although I'd stay with detailed match descriptions for PPVs etc.
