I like the read Shmoe, sorry I haven't commented on it yet. You seriously continue this, I loved the PPV, Jericho winning was my favorite moment, I wish WWE could actually pull that through.

quote WWE.com
Armageddon News

WWE's annual December pay per view closed out the year 2007 with style in maybe the best Armageddon so far since its inception. Only one title on the line was retained and four titles changed hands. Randy Orton was the one who managed to hang on to his WWE Championship against Shawn Michaels due to some questionable tactics. Chris Jericho is fufilling his promise to 'Save Us' after, what many didn't predict happening, dethroning Batista to win the World Heavyweight Championship in his first pay per view back in wrestling. Jericho was heard to be ecstatic backstage, hugging nearly everyone in sight. CM Punk bested Rob Van Dam and John Morrison in a blistering triple threat match to lay claim to the ECW championship, Matt Hardy won a hard fought brawl with MVP to win the United States belt, Charlie Haas and thrown together partner William Regal upset three other teams to win the ladder match.

In other Armageddon news, we saw what has been voted match of the night between Jeff Hardy and John Cena. Their intense battle resulted in the Intercontinental champion upsetting the Chain Gang leader and going on to face Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble. By defeating Edge via DQ, Rey Mysterio also gets to try his luck at the first of the years big four. The Royal Rumble match is looking to be a heated confrontation as it is every year, with huge names like last years winner the Undertaker and runner up Shawn Michaels, former World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Triple H, John Cena amongst others taking part. A preview for Raw will be up shortly.

I use TEW 07, which will surely go down in price soon when 08 comes out. I'll probably purchase 08 because I'm a sucker for TEW and Adam Ryland's stuff, but I highly reccomend 07 to anyone.

Shmoe Does World Wrestling Entertainment

I RETURN TO WWE.
Coming soon to a neoseeker board near you.

So yeah, pretty much I decided I enjoyed my WWE game, I enjoyed writing it up and it seems some people did enjoy so I thought I'd bring it back for the first Raw of the new year 2008 in my game, which is only three shows after Armageddon, where I left it. I'll start with a year end awards that were awarded in game, my own personal promotion year end awards and maybe a creative meeting. Sound good? I hope so. See ya on the other side!

Disclaimer: I know there are a lot of WWE diaries right now, but I want to be different and will try my best to keep the diary fresh and exciting. To do that though I'm going to need a host of readers to help me out. And, in all fairness, my diary was here before a lot of the ones now!

WWE cleans up at World Wide Wrestling Awards!

That's right, World Wrestling Entertainment was awarded six awards out of the possible eight categories to win, and also had nearly the entire roster in the PWI Top 100 wrestlers of the year. Jeff Hardy won Wrestler Of The Year thanks to his superb performances, arguably being the break out star of 2007 in any promotion. The somewhat surprise pick for Young Wrestler of the Year went to Ken Doane, better known as Kenny Dykstra. Although he did have some great matches with CM Punk, Sabu and John Morrison through the year, many think he has yet to prove himself to be considered young wrestler of the year. Ric Flair was crowned veteran wrestler of the year, and at times the legendary Nature Boy even showed flashes of his old self, and pulled out enough solid performances to be considered over the many other wrestlers in the world eligible like Mitsuharu Misawa. WWE also won Promotion of the Year, narrowly beating out Pro Wrestling NOAH, Match of the Year for John Cena versus King Booker on the August 1st edition of Raw, and also Card of the Year for WWE Survivor Series.

PWI - WWE Wrestlers in the Top 100 Top 50

Jeff Hardy - #1
John Morrison - #2
Montel Vontavious Porter - #3
Umaga - #4
Triple H - #5
Rey Mysterio - #6

Chris Jericho - #10
John Cena - #11
Shawn Michaels - #12
Kenny Dykstra - #13
CM Punk - #14
Ric Flair - #15
Rob Van Dam - #16
Super Crazy - #17
Randy Orton - #18
Ken Kennedy - #19

Snitsky (?) - #32
Sabu - #33
Jimmy Wang Yang - #37
Paul London - #39
Simon Dean - #41
Charlie Haas - #45

WWE have issued a press statement citing their success as down to the continued hard work of their superstars and staff, and the change in the booking team freshning things up. They have also claimed that their start to the year Raw will go off with a bang, and coupled it with the news that their annual January Pay Per View, the Royal Rumble, will be the first WWE PPV to be broadcast live in HD! We hope you continue to tune in to WWE!

Monday Night Raw
Broadcast live from the US Cellular Arena

Pre Show:
Cade & Murdoch defeated Chuck Palumbo & Cody Rhodes

Raw Is Live!

Monday Night Raw is back once more, with J.R. and Jerry Lawler going over the top to tell you just how good the show tonight is going to be. Which of course, is very good. But probably not to the orgasm levels coming from King's mouth. The Raw opening montage is shown but before long a high pitched noise is heard, inevitably followed by -

HEY!

The arena is illuminated in gold and out onto the stage amidst a sea of jeers is the reigning WWE Champion, the Evolution of WWE, The Legend Killer, Randy Orton! Dressed in a smart, black shirt and dress pants, and of course the WWE title draped over his right shoulder, he starts to walk smugly to the ring. Once in the ring, he pulls his classic pose and soaks up the jeers before getting the microphone.

Randy Orton: Look at all your faces. Look at all your faces who thought that history would repeat itself and Randy Orton's reign would be cut short at one month by another member of the Clique. Look at all of you, in stunned silence as Randy Orton still stands here before you as the pioneer of the Age of Orton, and still the WWE Champion! See, not even the legendary Shawn Michaels, the man who has been in this business decades, could outwit me, and either he is getting on, or the greatness passed on through the wrestling generations of my family have worked their magic, because even all his veteran instinct wasn't enough to put me down for the three count! Armageddon was just the start of the Age of Orton, but a lot of people have been telling me, 'Randy, you prepared for Michaels. If you were just thrown out there, unprepared, you wouldn't have the kind of thinking a veteran like Michaels does to pull it off.' I'm sick of it, so right now, I'm issuing a challenge to anybody in the Raw locker room ...tonight, live on Raw, the first man to come out here gets a shot at my WWE Championship later on. So come on, come out here and help me show the world that it is not arrogance. It is destiny!

A few moments of tense waiting as Orton, still clutching his WWE title smiles up at the entrance. Nobody is coming out and Orton raises the mic back to his mouth before the audience lights up as -

HELLO LADIES!

Orton mouths "what the ..." and then a very naughty curse word as the fans go insane, Val Venis walks out! Towel around his lower half as always, the former Big Valbowski does the bird flap thing with his arms and points at Orton, nodding.

Randy Orton: Venis? Val Venis? I suppose I never said the challenger actually had to be anywhere near my league ...Val, you want your WWE title match, you've got it for tonight! And Jeff Hardy, you face me at the Royal Rumble, tonight I want you to see what I do to this pathetic wannabe porn star as a shadow of whats to come for you!

Charlie Haas vs. Paul London
Paul London lost his half of the World Tag belts at Armagedon to the man he is facing, Charlie Haas, who won with his replacement partner William Regal. The match starts with some fast chain wrestling, a lot of headlock take overs, headscissor breaks, you know the stuff. The match develops into a very solid contest with each man getting their offence in, when Paul London comes off the top rope with a double foot missile dropkick, but Haas catches his legs, flips him over and locks him in the Haas of Pain! London struggles and eventually makes it to the ropes but is limping. Still, he finds it in himself to reverse a front suplex and hit his signature dropsault on Haas! Haas is down, and London follows up with a standing Shooting Star Press! One ...two ...three, it's over, and London has maybe warranted a Tag Title rematch with the win!

After the match, Kendrick comes down and celebrates with London, but before long we cut backstage where, to a mixed reaction John Cena is standing by. He goes through his routine of talking about losing to Jeff Hardy at Armageddon, but he assures us before long, the title he lost at Survivor Series will return to his waist. Hooray for us when that day comes. The marks go crazy for Cena in this segment, which is still a high quality promo. The smarks jeer. They don't want to see the title back on Vanilla Ice.

Snitsky vs. John Cena
Although Cena gets his healthy amount of jeers from the crowds when he is a supposed super face, at least its better than complete indifference when Snitsky comes out. Still, it's a fairly solid affair, with Snitsky getting in some big punches and an even bigger big boot. Still, Johnny Boy overcomes the obstacles like Snitsky's complete lack of talent and pins him in six minutes with the F-U.

After the bell, Cena gestures that Snitsky can in fact not see him, and throws up the Word Life signs on the turnbuckles. Before Cena can exit the ring though, the lights go out! Nobody in the arena knows what is going on until, in the dark, a huge rattling of metal. The lights come back up, a dented chair is in the ring, knocked down next to a fallen, broken John Cena, who looks damn near unconscious. Who attacked John Cena? We'll have to wait and find out because its our first commercial break!

After the break, we come back and do some camera panning but its not long before the classic few bars of Motorhead strike in, and the inimitable voice of Lemmy says -

TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!

And before long, the Fifth McMahon is making a b-line for the ring. He has a mic in hand already so doesn't take long before he starts on the microphone.

Triple H: Now, I've come out here because I've come to address what is, to me, the most important event of the WWE calendar year, because it gives me a chance to get onto the grandest stage of all in April and become once more the World champion, and that is the Royal Rumble. Time and time again now I've been overlooked to take on my protege Randy Orton for his WWE title, but that doesn't matter because the Royal Rumble is an even better chance to prove that I am still the absolute best the WWE has to offer, and I'll do it by beating 30 other superstars at the end of this month and throw them over the ropes on my way to victory. Look who we've got in the match, Umaga? How does a man who can't even speak English expect to win the Royal Rumble? Besides I already sabotaged ...I mean, beat his ass in the middle of the ring! King Booker, who has no chance of beating me. After all, I've always done my utmost to hold him back ...uh, from victory that is! Lashley, who seems to have his hands full with a certain Green Bay loudmouth? No, none of the guys on Raw, let alone Smackdown and ECW, stand a chance. I'm putting the locker room on notice right now, at Royal Rumble, stand out of my way or kneel before the King of Kings!

Haitch drops the microphone and stomps around the Raw ring, ready for his match with newly crowned WWE World Tag Team Champion William Regal, coming up next!

Triple H vs. William Regal
William Regal comes out and proudly displays his half of the World Tag Team straps. He makes his way to the ring eventually and the match starts. The King of Kings dominates the early going, not letting Regal stand in his way of making an impressive showing, but eventually Regal shows his "True Brit Grit", a tee slogan I happened to come up with, at least I think that was me, but Regal fights back, using knee drops and elbows on Triple H's previously injured knees to wear down the former multi-time World champion. Regal delivers a vicious looking cutter, one ...two, Triple H brings the shoulder up. Regal continues his assault, putting Haitch in the corner and reigning the blows down on him. Regal pauses for a bit of taunting in the name of her Majesty, but Trips throws Regal into the center of the ring! Regal hits hard and gets back up but Tripper charges in and his a stiff jumping knee, shades of Harley Race! TKOK attempts a Pedigree but Regal wiggles out and nails a European uppercut! Trips looks dazed as Regal looks to take advantage as he hits the ropes, but he ends up eating knee as HHH reverses is into a face crusher! Regal is on spaghetti legs, Haitch is back up and hooks Regal's arms, PEDIGREE. From there, it's uno, dos, tres! The King of WWE celebrates for a minute, but returns backstage, probably so he can impregnate Stephanie as soon as possible.

After that awesome bout, we're backstage with Todd Grisham interviewing Mr. Kenneth Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy: OH BABY, LASHLEY! Lashley my main man! You keep setting yourself up for falls don't you?! One day after Armageddon last week, I lured you backstage and I jumped your ass! I jumped your ass and I put you down! Now Lashley, just because I am the superior wrestler, and quite obviously the superior thinker, you still think yourself healthy enough to take on Shawn Michaels tonight? Well Bob my boy, I'll tell you what. I'm gonna leave you tonight, so I can prove that you don't have what it takes to beat Shawn Michaels in the main event by yourself, and therefore, you can't beat me by yourself, so when you eventually figure out it is time to meet me in the ring, you'll already know the outcome, and the winner will be announced as MISTAHHHHHHHH! ......KENNEDYYYY!

...

KENNEDY!

After that promo, we get to watch the events that unfolded earlier between Randy Orton and having Val Venis accept an open challenge for a WWE Championship match, which is coming up next!

WWE Championship
Randy Orton © vs. Val Venis
The crowd is surprisingly stoked to see Val Venis in action tonight, proving that despite not being in the limelight for years can actually not do too much damage to the fans opinion of you. Orton once more gets his share of boos and the match for the WWE title gets underway. Both men lock up a few times, and are unable to get an advantage, which seems to frustrate the champion who clubs Venis when he had his back turned. Orton continues to stomp all over Venis, dominating completely, and goes for the Head Punt, but Venis rolls out the way and hits an impressive clothesline, sending Orton down. The crowd pop for a bit of Venis offence. The Big Valbowski pulls Orton up and starts actually slugging it out with the WWE champion, ducking a wild swing and hitting a back suplex into neckbreaker combo! He covers, and gets a two count out of it. Orton fights his way back in with a stalling suplex and a snap elbow drop before he measures for the RKO, he jumps up, but somehow Val turns it into some sort of side slam! Val Venis goes up top, and he could become WWE Champion! He launches, Money Shot! ...misses! Val crashes and burns, gets to his feet and eats the canvas courtesy of a RKO! The cover, one ...two ...three, Orton retains!

'Voices' by Rev Theory kicks in as Orton ascends the turnbuckle with his WWE Championship, posing and enjoying the hatred that the WWE faithful throw at him, but their negatives turn to positives as the familiar guitar riff kicks in, the drums beat and the pyros explode as Jeff Hardy comes out onto the stage! The Rainbow Haired Warrior does his crazy ass dance and gives the fans fives on the way down to the ring but seems to keep his gaze directed at Orton. Orton smiles smugly at his challenger at the Royal Rumble as Jeff rolls into the ring and faces off with Orton. Orton points at his belt and mouths something along the lines of "You want this? You'll never get it!" The camera pans to Hardy who smirks and says "We'll see." Orton's smile turns to a scowl as he looks down and spits on Hardy's shoe! He takes a few steps back and drops his belt as Hardy crouches down, they both charge for each other but out of nowhere are separated just before they can make contact by seemingly half the locker room! Both men struggle and try to get to each other but the numbers game overwhelms them as eventually Orton is carried from the ring kicking and screaming as Jeff is left inside the ring. JR and King then tell us that the main event, Bobby Lashley versus Shawn Michaels, is up next!

Main Event
Bobby Lashley vs. Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels is coming off a huge win this week, after last week on Raw he and Triple H defeated King Booker and the WWE Champion Randy Orton in tag team action, with HBK getting the pin. Lashley has been having a lot of trouble with Ken Kennedy lately, but looks focused. The bout gets underway with Michaels using his quickness and veteran mentality to stay away from Lashley's power, throwing a few left jabs in here and there. Eventually, Lashley catches Michaels with a huge shoulder block, followed by a short arm clothesline and goes on the attack. Lashley picks Michaels up and drills him down with a shoulder powerslam! One ...two ...Michaels kicks out with ease. Lashley is on the offence for a few more minutes and thinks its time to end the bout, measuring for the Spear! He charges in and Michaels leapfrogs him! Lashley stops himself and turns into a huge haymaker! A desperation move, Michaels drills Lashley with a DDT and goes up top. He poses for a few seconds, before jumping off with the elbow drop! He covers, but only gets two! Michaels starts stomping the mat and goes to the corner, but Lashley can hear the Sweet Chin Music being prepared, and so rolls to the outside. He walks around the ring clutching his head but doesn't see Michaels climb out onto the apron and spring backwards with an awe-inspiring Asai moonsault! Michaels rolls Lashley back into the ring and covers, but it is again a two count. Michaels starts to work over Lashley with some holds on the legs and tries what looks to be a Sharpshooter, but Lashley powers out again and drives into Michaels with a running forearm smash! Michaels lands hard as Lashley covers and gets a two. Lashley screams and signals the end as he lifts Michaels up for the Dominator! He has him up but just as Lashley is about to snap forward, Michaels slips over his back! Lashley turns, BAM! Sweet Chin Music connects! Michaels crawls into the cover, one ...two ...three! HBK wins it! Michaels has his arm raised in victory as Raw goes off the air after an awesome batle.

Final Rating: B+

Quick Results:
Paul London defeated Charlie Haas in 10:40 - B
John Cena defeated Snitsky in 6:31 - B-
Triple H defeated William Regal in 14:44 - A*
Randy Orton defeated Val Venis in 9:40 to retain the WWE title - B

OOC: That's right folks, I'm back in business. Now, if there is anything you liked more / didn't like about the show than the old shows I've done, tell me. Maybe the lack of ratings is bad, or better? Colour coding was alright? Just let it all out. I'll be waiting.

Good show. The layout is really easy to read and all your psds are sexy. I love how you're pushing Orton, I've never been too big of a fan of his but "The Age of Orton" was interesting and I think it could have been pretty good if it had asted longer.

Thanks Cradle, I appreciate the feedback and the fact it's good is even better! As for the length of things, my shows before were very long so I thought by shortening them maybe more people would be inclined to comment. It seems that is not the case.

If you read the show, please, leave a comment. I know they are not vital but it gives me a reason to keep putting the shows up and ways to improve the diary, so if you liked it or even didn't, please comment away!

Good to see this diary back it was one of my favourites before I went on a little break. Anyway onto the show I loved the layout its so easy to read as well. Val Venis having a shot at Randy Orton is pretty cool its nice to see him starting to get a push. The awards thing was a good idea as well. Keep up the good writing.

Shmoe Does World Wrestling Entertainment - First Raw Back is up!

Just in case people are wondering, where my previous Survivor Series summary was, in its place is a brand spankin' new Pay Per View calender and show archive, so enjoy those. Also, in game I've released the Highlanders, in case anyone misses them, which isn't likely. Anybody else like to comment my show before I put up the ECW preview, whenever that might be?
