 Over the past year or two, we've seen nothing short of a flux in the WWE. Title holders, Main Eventers, and even reactions to certain superstars. Storylines have been great... But some not so much. We've seen Flair leave the wrestling world, and we've seen Colin Delaney enter it. We've seen one-hit-wonder champions, and we've seen guys who were born to hold gold... Guys like John Cena. Guys like Triple H. Guys like Randy Orton. Guys like Y... 2... J. But holding gold may not be what it's all about... At least, not the gold Y2J has held. He held his WWE Intercontinental Championship for 8 months until relinquishing it in late November to Mark Henry. Jericho went on to get involved in a few Diva feuds, some gimmick battle royals, and some classic mic-wars... But hey, where's the gold? Where is the signature Y2J pose with a title hanging on either shoulder? Well... It's in his eyes, and his eyes are about to show the future. The future...  WWE Presents Monday Night Raw! August 10, 2009 Champions and Contenders Collide! Everybody loves Championship Matches, but this week we may have something even better... A Number One Contender and Champion versus Number One Contender and Champion Match! That's right, the Number One Contender for the Intercontinental Championship, Rey Mysterio, will team up with the World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy. Their opponents? Intercontinental Champion Mark Henry and the Number One Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship... CM Punk! This match sounds incredible, and I doubt we'll be let down. Highlight Reel "The King of the World" will be hosting a "Future is Now" edition of the Highlight Reel this week. At first we were unsure what he was talking about, but then we found out just who his guests were... World Tag Team Champions Ted DiBiase, Jr. and Cody Rhodes! Chris Jericho has long been a very controversial wrestler, but DiBiase, Jr. and Rhodes are not too shabby themselves. What will transpire when the three of them are in the ring together? Who knows, but it'll be a site to see! Battle of the Loudmouths In the WWE, getting somewhere is based off two things: how good you are in the ring and how good you are on the mic... And these two guys are better than them all at one of those two! That's right, the microphone-masters Mr. Kennedy and Santino Marella will be squaring off this week, and what a chance it is for them. Both guys are regarded as two of the best on the mic, but now it's time to prove who is better in the ring. Heart Broken Sister? Shawn Michaels and Paul Burchill have been feuding for weeks, yet never any physical action taken against one another. Now? Well... Let's just say that Ted DiBiase wants them to put their money where their mouth is... No pun intended. So this week, Shawn Michaels will take on Paul Burchill! Will the Heart Break Kid break another ladies heart when he beats Katie Lea's big bro? Or will Paul Burchill bring yet another smile to Katie Lea's cute... but intimidating... face? Brian Gewirtz: Not much, Chris, just wanted to let you know that later tonight after The Highlight Reel, you'd be facing Ted DiBiase, Jr. and Cody Rhodes in a Tag Team Match. We normally don't do this, but we're going to let you pick your partner. Not just anyone, but we've got a handful of guys who have been notified of the possibility of them being your partner. Chris Jericho: Whoa, whoa... Why am i facing those two ass clowns, Brian? Brian Gewirtz: Haha... You don't have to be in-character right now, man; we're off camera. Is this guy retarted? Chris Jericho: Brian, I'm being completely in character. These two little jerk-offs think that they're tough shit because of their daddies, but I've got news... Neither of their fathers were good either! Two of the most overrated, over-used pieces of wrestling garbage ever. Brian Gewirtz: Well, I guess we're all entitled to our opinions. But, these guys have held those World Tag Team Titles two times in the past year, and currently for 4 months. We thought you and one of these guys would be able to pose a challenge to them... Another night, another show to steal... Here we go baby, time to show just why I'm the best the business has ever... EVER... seen. Y5J Y4J Y3J Y2J Y2J BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!! That line will never get old, FTW! Chris Jericho: And more importantly, welcome to The Highlight Reel. Now as much as I'd love to give an introduction to the show, we've got a lot to get to. Actually, we've got very little to get to, because we've got two of the most overrated wrestlers in the history of the WWE as my guests! So just so we can get this over with without feeling any serious pain, I give to you... The World Tag Team Chumps, Ted "My Father's the GM... No Wonder I'm Successful" DiBiase, Jr... And Cody "My Father Sucked Too" Rhodes! Fans cheer me, turn to an immediate boo as the champs come out. It sickens me to call these two sorry excuses of wrestlers champs, but eh, why not? They're in the ring, time to get it going. Chris Jericho: I don't know what you two expected when you were told that you were going to be on The Highlight Reel... But boys, you're in for one heck of a time! Ah, here comes my favorite part... Embarrassment. Chris Jericho: Let me cut right to the chase, "Champs." To me, you two haven't done anything to deserve those Tag Team Titles. As a matter of fact, you two haven't done anything to deserve a contract! All you've done is ride your fathers' coattails and gotten fame and stardom. Is that what wrestling is about in your mind? Cody Rhodes: No, Chris. Wrestling to me is about wi... Chris Jericho: Winning? I find that hard to believe, Cody, since you still haven't had a significant singles win. And to be honest, you still haven't had any competition for the World Tag Team Titles. That's why as of right now, I am... Ted DiBiase, Jr.: You are what, Chris? You are challenging us? You are the Number One Contender to a two-man title? Chris Jericho: Well, jackass! I was going to tell you, but you went and had to be an ass clown! So if you'd please, just let me finish... That's be great. Okay? Okay? You too Cody? Okay... As of right now, I'm letting you know that... BAM! Shot to Teddy Jr.'s head with the microphone. BOOM! Enziguiri to Cody Rhodes! BOOM... Low blow from Teddy Jr.?! SHIT! Down on the mat isn't the place to be at a 2 on 1 beat down, but thankfully... HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?! Hardcore Holly comes running down to the ring and immediately goes after Cody Rhodes, turning him inside-out with a Clothesline! DiBiase, Jr. goes for him, but Holly ducks and BAM! A Codebreaker from me! The two little girls... Excuse me, Tag Team Champions... Run out of the ring and me and Holly are standing tall. Chris Jericho: Is that it, ass clowns?! Ted, you Randy Orton wannabe, go cry to your daddy that we kicked your ass! Cody, you anorexic chipmunk looking man, go cry to your daddy for him to breast feed you again! You boys want a challenge, you'll get one right here... RIGHT NOW! Of course... MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! Ted DiBiase: Whoa, whoa, whoa, Chris! Now me, I'm a fair man... And I'd say that was a cheap shot!
