Is there a weekly best Diary award? perhaps there should be?

We've had the diary of the month award 2 or 3 times now and it's failed to keep up each time. If we can't hold a monthly one, we probably can't hold a weekly one.

Weekly ones could maybe be easier but that is just me. As counted points for a whole month is a little bit of a bother but a week could just be done in like a few seconds. In a month there are so many diaries etc but in a week there wouldn't be that many if you know what I mean but that is just my thoughts on the matter.

Weekly ones would work if there are enough active diaries. There are very few diaries here that update more than one every week. Monthly awards are much more fitting for a forum as active as this is.

I think Gabbo might have died.

Any diaries that are opened purely to reserve space will be closed as soon as I see them. I don't mind if you don't have all of the subject matter sorted, but I expect at least 60/70% of the posts you reserve to be filled pretty soonish.

Admittedly there hasn't been as many examples recently, but I've seen plenty enough to know I don't like it.

This should contribute a small way to slowing influx of new diaries that go nowhere. Too many people open threads and then have to work out what to put in them.
