quote killer iPod Hmmm, interesting idea. I don't mind so much about losing activity, I'm sure we'd all rather have 3 great diaries as opposed to 15 diaries that don't make it to the second show. ZTR, you need to learn to say no to people too. EDIT: I think this forum needs something new, a new way of writing. I enjoyed Iconic's Road to WrestleMania diary recently. Unfortunately it didn't last long, but the entries were short and sweet while it did. You didn't have to spend 20minutes reading the same shows, with the same rosters, writing styles and same layouts. Not to mention he kept the protagonist's identity a secret and made you want to read on more. It just felt fresh. This message was edited by GabboUK on Apr 15 2009. -------------------

The difference in me making new diaries when people ask me, is I'm not the one who lets it die.

You should just stick to doing the diaries by yourself then. It seems like a good idea: That you can get more done with more people, but I find it doesn't work as well as you'd think tbh.
The only problem I have with the EWR forum right now is too many people saying: "Good job, can't wait until next week", just giving predictions, or whatnot. I don't mind predictions, but honestly, what's the point if that's all you're going to offer? I think we just need a little more in-depth feedback from everyone involved, with maybe some sort of established responsibility to give feedback back when you get it. I do think the 3-5 days waiting period is a good idea. Other places have it as one month, but that's far too long. 3-5 days is a fair number, I think. ------------------- ![]()

I was thinking more 5-7. Maybe just 5. Not sure how I would enforce it, can't force people to only work on one diary, or force them to close diaries, when in actuality, they may have just had writers block and went to a new project temporarily.
Maybe I should just use my discretion a little. I'm sure we'll work something out. Perhaps, enforcing a 7 day wait if your last diary didn't make it past the first show. IDK, I'll have a think about it. Hopefully with the diary contest coming back if we stop people voting for their own diaries, maybe they'll be more inclined to vote for those who give them more in-depth diary feedback. Obviously this needs people not to just favour their friends, but if they do it fairly the forum will thrive. If anyone has any thoughts on anything, new threads, what to sticky or unsticky, forum layout, colours, guidelines etc, please post. -------------------

Personally think we should either add the forum index to the first post of this thread, or give it it's own thread and sticky it. I was planning on updating it pretty soon, anyway. I have some free time this Saturday, if no one else does by then, I'll update the forum index and post it here for you to do whatever with Gabb.

I also think people could try to give feedback on the diarys from not as known people as people usually just post in the most popular peoples diarys when there are some really good diarys from people not as well known.
Gabbo: Maybe have a you can only have one story running at any time and then if they don't want to do it they PM you to ask to close it then you tell them they have to wait how every many days till they can start a new one. ------------------- ![]()

re: Requests, Feedback & Suggestions |
quote Zhou Tai RocksYeah, that would be great. I'll work out what to do with it later. I'll go back through the old pages to find out the other types of threads the older community used. KS, I'll leave a message to the newer and guest posters to try and support the community by reading diaries and commenting, or maybe a scrolling marquee in the thread header. All just ideas. I do feel we can do without this kind of longer post = better diary shtick. Short concise shows can be great too and easier to write, they'll still convey the overall storyline and show how characters develop. Yeah, it won't be in as much detail as you like for matches and segments for some readers, but as long as the jist is put across it's fine. Of course, if you enjoy writing longer shows then by all means... I just don't think we should try and make every show the exact same, by complaining about length and layout. If someone just wants to do Smackdown diary, then go for it, don't feel pressured into doing all three shows. Do what makes you happy, as you're the one writing it. Also I think its become a somewhat of an automated reply for people trying to comment other diaries without reading them, along with "use size=1". With regards to multiple diaries, I don't want to be Hitler by dictating what you can and can't do, but I'll keep an eye on it for now. There's no doubting the biggest buzz of a new diary is the influx of comments, so maybe keeping a prediction contest, or making diaries more interactive, either by including the readers as characters or by giving them some control over booking could help bring readers back. -------------------

re: Requests, Feedback & Suggestions |
quote GabboUKNot always. Sometimes the little details can be vital. For me, I cannot imagine doing a diary where I try to explain an advancement of a storyline in only a couple of sentences. I don't know, I just don't find that fair to my talent or to my readers. I don't think I could even do it if I tried, to be honest. For matches, yeah, I can see that it was a bit of a waste of time and effort and have drastically cut back on that. But for segments, I think people should put effort into it. I guess it's all just personal preference though, eh? ------------------- ![]()

Just like to point something out.
http://neoseeker.com/forums/4200/t1350407-cvdvdvv/ Replying to the dumbass in this thread will do nothing but encourage him. He's obviously a troll, and they feed on things like sarcasm. If one of these threads pops up, just report it and let Gabbo take care of it. If you don't reply, he'll eventually get bored and stop trying to be funny. K my rant's over. -------------------
