I'm trying to download the May2009 data from the downloads thread. it downloads fine, but everytime I start a game. Half the rosters contracts are up and they will not enter negotiations with me. No free agents wrestlers or staff will negotiate with me either. What can i do?

Aha! You know, I only recently asked for help with that on another forum (yesterday in fact) and (as far as I know) I have it working fine.

You see, whenwever I start a game, when it's getting the data ready, after about 10 seconds it will go into a "not responding" state. I'd end up losing patience, double clicking on it, triggering the "Program is not responding: Leave, Shut down, etc" pop-up, to which I'd select shut down, shutting down the programme, and then I'd load it up again and all would appear fine.

However, this is actually the same thing as hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL on it, and doing that corrupts your game. As you've had the same problem as me I assume that you've made the same silly error, but we'll see how you get on.

As such, I advise that you delete your game and contents, install it all again, and this time when you start your game just leave it loading, don't click on it or anything, untill it's done.

Thanks man. that would explain it. My patience level isn't always at its best and I hate waiting for the game to load. As soon as I started reading your repy, I started laughing. Glad to see there is more than one person like me.

That fixed it immeadtly. Thanks a lot. When it says 10 minutes it means ten minutes though. I'm really looking forward to playing with a new roster. I've been using the same two for the last 3 years now. 1986 and 2002 were great years, but today is even better. thanks for the help.

I know what you mean, I'm playing the most recent update now and it's like a completely different game! As you say, playing earlier versions is alright but after so long I've gotten sick of nostalgia and want to run a wrestling business in modern times.

I've had to restart my game a good four or five times actually, due to the initial self-caused staff glitch, then I didn't install the DATA file properly and I was so overjoyed at being able to hire staff that I didn't notice untill searching for PAC the British high flyer came up with a search for X-Pac.

THEN I started over again, getting my staff and roster in order, untill I noticed I had put the wrong wrestling promotion name in. And restarted my game before remembering you can change the name while it's in progress.

BUT it's all grand now. I'm only happy to help.
