Wow, looks like I have some new readers in ADA 2 and The Lonewolf. I hope I'll be able to keep your, and my older readers, interest for as long as possible.
Smackdown will be up tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, No Way Out preview will be this Friday and the pay-per-view itself will be posted on Sunday. Also, a quick announcement. The Prediction Contest will be ended after No Way Out. I've got some plans that involve hiring and debuting new talent on my own terms so the PC will be leaving for awhile. I'm not ruling out a return but I need to be able to pick my own wrestlers for the next in-game month or two.

quote the blodeThanks for the compliment, blode. I'm pretty sure that static_puzzle has an absolute lock for first place in the Prediction Contest but I be 100% sure until after No Way Out. Speaking of the Prediction Contest, I might try and figure out some way to implement something like it but for with feedback. I've noticed that predictions have remained strong while actual feedback has dropped off a bit. Perhaps give people one point for every feedback for each show and the first one to ten points wins some prize or another. Does anyone think that's a good idea or should I just cross my fingers that criticism comes in on its own without the help of incentives?

Yo, Yo, Yo! Sorry haven't been giving regular feedback but now my diaries in SVR07 i'm only really browsing in there. And i'm not going to take part in the Prediction Contest as i'll end up missing weeks and stuff! Anyway nice stuff and i'm looking forward to No Way Out more than my birthday, no i wouldn't go that far but it should be a 10/10 show!

Yeah, I'll admit I haven't been commenting that much recently. I'm reading the shows for sure, just haven't been posting. I know how annoying it can be when people don't post feedback, so I'll start doing again.

![]() Smackdown (2/23/2007): 1. An Eventful Highlight Reel Smackdown opens with Chris Jericho already in the ring with the Highlight Reel set in place. He talks a bit about his match against Chris Benoit before calling out his guest, Triple H. Hunter gets a big pop from the crowd as he makes his way to the ring where he is immediately asked by Jericho why he was attacked by Shawn Michaels. Triple H launches into a tirade about Michaels and his betrayal while Jericho tries to keep the show from turning into a Triple H promo rather than an interview. Jericho ends up laying a hand on HHH's shoulder to try and stop him from talking but Hunter spins around and glares at him. Jericho suddenly backs off but not because of the glare. Michaels comes flying into the ring and immediately begins brawling with Triple H. The former friends fight around the set while Jericho tries to get them to stop. The brawl is finally ended when Triple H grabs a chair that's in the ring, causing Shawn Michaels to roll underneath the ropes. Suddenly, John Bradshaw Layfield's music hits. JBL says that if Michaels and Triple H want to get their hands on each other before No Way Out it will have to be in a match, a tag team match to be exact. The WWE GM then announces that tonight's main event will be Triple H and Chris Jericho against Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit. Triple H stares down Shawn Michaels as Chris Jericho walks up beside him and does the same. 2. Brian Kendrick vs. Chris Hero With both Paul London and Claudio Castagnoli at ringside, this was s good match that, like London vs. Castagnoli on RAW, showed what the fans can expect at No Way Out. Hero played the standard cheating heel while Kendrick played up the the crowd throughout the match. The end came when, while the referee had his back turned, Castagnoli hit London with a steel chair, knocking him out cold. Hero continued to distract the ref while Castagnoli rolled into the ring, hit Kendrick, and then rolled out. Hero then grabbed Kendrick and delivered a Hero's Welcome before getting the pinfall. Castagnoli re-entered the ring with the steel chair still in hand, apparently going to beat Kendrick some more. However, he is grabbed around the ankles by a recovering Paul London. Castagnoli just hit London with the chair again before helping Hero give Brian Kendrick the Hero's Welcome KOW Edition. The Kings of Wrestling then leave the ring, taunting the crowd along the way. Winner: Chris Hero 3. Don't Even Think About It CM Punk is warming up backstage when in walks none other than Bryan Danielson. Punk arrogantly asks the Cruiserweight champion what's up which Danielson replies simply with the fact that he was walking by and couldn't help but notice that his pay-per-view opponent is warming up even though he doesn't have a match. Danielson tells Punk that it is clear that he is going to try and interfere during his match with William Regal. He then tells Punk that if he even tries, he'll get JBL to void the contract for the match between the two and then it's "goodbye, title shot". Danielson turns and leaves while Punk stares off after him, obviously outwitted by the American Dragon. 4. Rey Mysterio vs. Daivari A high-flying match where Daivari keeps running away from Mysterio whenever the lucha gets the advantage. Hassan interfered in the match on several occasions simply by distracting the referee whenever Daivari attempted something illegal or by tripping Mysterio when he tried to rebound off the ropes. However, the official eventually caught Hassan and ejected him from ringside. After that, it was only a matter of time before Mysterio hit the 619 and picked up the pinfall victory. Winner: Rey Mysterio 5. Sabu vs. Paul Burchill A simple but competitive match that ran for about ten minutes. Sabu did his best in this non-Hardcore environment but it was Paul Burchill who won after hitting a C4 on Sabu and picking up the pinfall. However, Burchill wasn't done yet since he then pulled back on Sabu and hit the Curb Stomp not once but twice. He then smirked only to be interrupted by a very familiar voice. Winner: Paul Burchill 6. A Date... Kane appeared on the titantron where he began to mock Paul Burchill, calling him a wannabe monster. Kane then goes on to say that neither Burchill nor himself have a match at No Way Out and that is why he is now challenging Paul Burchill to not just any match but to a cage match. When Kane asks for a response, all Burchill says is a simple "fine" before he begins to head to the back. Kane says that Burchill has just made a date with death and he'll never make it out on Sunday. The Big Red Machine laughs sadistically but Burchill just walks backstage like it isn't effecting him as Smackdown cuts to commercial. 7. Bryan Danielson vs. William Regal Danielson and Regal last wrestled each other roughly one month ago and this match was more of the same. Lots of submission holds and chain wrestling, both men came off as extraordinary technical wrestlers. Despite this, Danielson prevailed in this match after locking in the Cattle Mutilation and making Regal tap out. Winner: Bryan Danielson 8. Two Days Away Rated R-KO's music plays as they make their way to the ring. Edge and Orton launch into a tirade about Cena and Taker, talking about how, they've defeated the legendardy DX so defeating a thrown together team of enemies will be simple. They continue to rip on Cena and The Undertaker, calling Taker a has-been and Cena a never-was. They finish by saying that, come Sunday, the team of John Cena and The Undertaker will go the way of Degeneration-X: to the dustbin of history. 9. The Future Is The Future... Smackdown immediately cuts backstage after Rated R-KO's promo to show John Cena walking backstage, heading towards the arena. He stops and the camera turns to show The Undertaker standing next to the Undisputed champion. Cena tells Taker that what is going to happen at Wrestlemania in a month shouldn't stop them from kicking Orton and Edge's behinds at No Way Out. However, The Undertaker just looks at him like he's crazy before walking off. Cena then continues to head towards the ring, shaking his head, while Smackdown heads to a commercial break. 10. John Cena vs. Edge Edge and John Cena have faced each other many times in the ring. This shows during their match as they counter each other's moves often due to their past history together. Still, Cena eventually gains the upper hand which doesn't sit well with Rated R-KO. Eventually, Edge "accidentally" knocks down the referee which allows Randy Orton to get into the ring. He immediately RKOs Cena before standing him up so Edge can give him the spear. The referee finally wakes up just long enough to make the three count. He is then kicked out of the ring by Orton who begins to stomp away at Cena along with Edge. The beatdown continues for over two minutes when Rated R-KO suddenly bails. The Undertaker is shown finally running to the ring in order to save his partner with a bike chain wrapped around his hand. Rated R-KO try to get in the ring but are held off by Taker and their fear of the chain. Instead, they just glare at The Undertaker as he helps Cena to his feet. Winner: Edge 11. Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit vs. Triple H and Chris Jericho This match was the perfect blend of the top face, the top heel, two great technical wrestlers, and four highly experienced workers. Shawn Michaels and Triple H played to the crowd throughout the match while Benoit and Jericho showed off some great mat wrestling. The end of this fifteen minute match came when Benoit hopped into the ring in order to break up The Walls Of Jericho, which Y2J had applied on Shawn Michaels. This brought Triple H into the ring who immediately began fighting with Benoit. This distracted the referee which caused Jericho to come over to try and get him to bring order back so he could make Michaels tapout. However, with the official still trying to gain control of Benoit and Triple H, Michaels lowblowed Jericho from behind before rolling Y2J up. Benoit and Triple H ended up outside the ring, still fighting, when the referee turned around and made the three count. Michaels released the rollup before leaping out of the ring, crashing directly into his nemesis Triple H. Benoit was also met with a high-flying move, a springboard dropkick to the face by the recovering Chris Jericho. Both pairs of men brawled around the ring until Smackdown finally fades out. Winners: Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit Quick Results: 1. Chris Hero defeated Brian Kendrick via interference from Claudio Castagnoli 2. Rey Mysterio beat Daivari 3. Paul Burchill defeated Sabu 4. Bryan Danielson made William Regal tapout 5. Edge defeated John Cena via interference from Randy Orton 6. Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit beat Triple H and Chris Jericho

quoteI am officially declaring static_puzzle the winner of the prediction contest! The highest score possible at No Way Out is seven points. Even if the runner-up, 4191mfc, got every prediction right and static got them all wrong, static would still win by four points. I am now PMing static_puzzle with the form to decide which wrestler he would like to see hired in the WWE and debuted by Wrestlemania. I will be making a feedback contest but I don't know what to give out as a prize. The contest will start on the RAW after No Way Out and will continue until Wrestlemania. The rules will be posted before the RAW preview. EDIT: Whoops! I said there would be a maximum of eight points for No Way Out when its actually seven. Sorry! How about a guestbook stamping as a reward?
Edit: Finished reading the show. The start of the match is quite interesting considering that Jericho and Triple H are in the same ring! And because the match is booked for the main event, and good move too, booking all four men into a tag match, although I don't like the outcome of the match, I wanted Triple H to win. Overall nice Smackdown! to hype No Way Out! This message was edited by Filter on Jan 10 2007. ------------------- Read my EWR diary, WWE: Taken Over Listen to Weird Al Yankovic's new single, Ebay. quote FilterI thought of that but its kind of cliche. I was thinking, perhaps, the winner would get the chance to send me some ideas for the show (like four or five) and I'd have to use one of them. I'd have to lay down a no stupid idea (like hiring Great Khali and giving him all the titles) maturity rule but it seems like it'd be a simple way to really increase traffic. I mean, who doesn't want to see their idea followed through on in someone else's diary? I was also thinking of "Winner gets to name a pay-per-view" or "Winner can ask for an early copy of one non-pay-per-view show for that month". So, basically, the current idea for prizes are: Winner gets guestbook stamped Winner gets to name a pay-per-view Winner gets early copy of either RAW or Smackdown Winner gets to become "creative consultant" What do you guys think? The easiest are the top three but the chance to be a creative consultant is a really big thing that could seriously increase traffic. This message was edited by thecrippler on Jan 10 2007.

Replying to Smackdown Feedback:
I felt the heels should win in order to incite the brawl at the end. Everyone loves programs that end with brawls I was thinking Kane more implied it than anything else. I agree that he isn't the type to say "wannabe" but there really isn't any other way to quickly put that and stay within my self imposed "as close to four lines as possible" rule. Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you liked the show. Replying to Contest Idea: I was thinking just the rough idea for a feud. Something like "Samoa Joe is hired and debuts with a promo about how he is the greatest Samoan athlete. Umaga and Armando make their way to the ring in response and Umaga ends up brawling with Joe. This sparks a feud between the two Samoans". In other words, just a decent outline on a feud and how to start it. I'd also go back to the "consultant" to see if they like where the storyline is going and find out if they have any ideas on how to keep the feud running. I'm glad you like the idea and I get the feeling it will be the most popular one. However, its a bit of work to start running feuds like that and I can see them eventually start piling up. Perhaps I could do something like what I'd seen in a diary a while back where there are two levels of prizes. If you win once, you get a smaller prize (Guestbook signing, name a PPV, early show results). If you're able to win a second time, you become a consultant. You then "reset" so your third win would be another small prize and your fourth would be the consultant job. What do you think guys think of those ideas? I'm very interested in what you have to say in regards to this. EDIT: Blargh! I just noticed I said "RAWs that end with brawls" instead of Smackdown. I actually did the same thing several times while writing Smackdown so it must have translated over. Its fixed now. This message was edited by thecrippler on Jan 10 2007.

I like the win once - minimum prizes and win twice - consultant job idea, it'll boost this diary's image, even attract more readers. I'm all for it.

The Punk/Danielson feud is a great undercard showcase. I'm waiting to see when either Cena or Taker smacks the other across the face, you do a good job of creating suspense.
As for the contest idea, I suggest things don't get too carried away. The feedback thing could turn into a bunch of spam from people if it isn't controlled. Something simple but that will be seen by everyone is good enough.
