WrestlingNews.com Poll

1. Another show by the WWE since the end of the brand split. With the news of TNA's quick ascension in the ratings, a mere .33 behind RAW, World Wrestling Entertainment is sure to continue to try and strike strong opening blows in this fight with TNA, starting with RAW and Smackdown putting on high-quality shows.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how well did RAW do? What about the show was good? What wasn't good?

2.
Bryan Danielson, the Cruiserweight champion, hasn't appeared on RAW or Smackdown's latest editions simply due to lack of time. Rumors are bouncing around in the WWE of the possibility that with the brand split, there just isn't time to have all the talent on RAW and Smackdown each week.

Should the WWE consider having Heat return? If so, what channel should they put it on, UPN, USA, or somewhere else?

3.
All ready in talks with Mark Copani after a large amount of fan support, WWE is again reaching out to the professional wrestling fans to find out who THEY think should be brought into the WWE. The official who is in touch with us says that they're looking for people who the WWE have never hired before or who haven't had their fare shot while they were in the WWE.

You've seen this question before, what independent wrestler should be brought into the WWE?

Crippler man, this diary is really good. RAW was great but 'm pissed that Rated R-KO won. What ahppened to Eugene? Who beat him up? First match was good also. Altogether probably 9/10. You'll get that extra point soon.

News was also pretty cool. Here are my respnses.

1. 9/10 evrything was pretty good except for the fact what happened to Eugene it was weird.

2. I don't know to be honest.

3. I'm not sure, you could bring Lesnar back, I forgot if he wass on a roster. Sabu or Sandman. Look at ECW guys.

Keep up the good work.

I loved the show, although I really didn't want to have to read through that much. I'd give the show an 8.5/10.

2. Should the WWE consider having Heat return? If so, what channel should they put it on, UPN, USA, or somewhere else?

I think Heat would be a great idea to help some of the lower-card guys get on some shows, as well as advance minor feuds.

3. You've seen this question before, what independent wrestler should be brought into the WWE?

Everything Keeps Going
January 12th, 2007

Kings vs. 'Leaders
The Kings of Wrestling made their presence known last Monday when Chris Hero defeated Kenny and Paul London in a triple threat match. This week on Smackdown, The Kings of Wrestling and The Spirit Squad face off to decide which of the two teams will become the number one contender's for the Undisputed Tag Team Titles. With The Spirit Squad being on a losing streak of late, will they be able to turn it around or with The Kings of Wrestling pick up their first tag team victory in the WWE?

Without a Soul
When asked whether he would postpone his match in order to allow Eugene a week off after he was brutally attacked at RAW, Burchill responded with a simple "No". So tonight, the souless wrestler will go one-on-one with the still battered Eugene. Will Burchill destroy Eugene like he did to Super Crazy or will the fan favorite pull out a surprise victory?

U-Turn?
After three losses, Degeneration-X will attempt to make a come back this Friday night when Randy Orton goes one-on-one with Triple H. Rated R-KO has been very confident backstage saying that the match this Friday will just continue to prove their dominance. Will Degeneration-X turn things around or will Rated R-KO continue to be the most powerful faction in the WWE?

No interference
After being attacked mid-match by King Booker, John Cena has challenged Finlay to another match for Smackdown. However, management has added a stipulation that if anyone interferes in the match, they will be fired immediately. Without help from Booker or Little Bastard, will Finlay be able to defeat the doctor of thuganomics or will Cena show why he is the Undisputed Champion?

Smackdown (1/12/2007):

1. Mysterio confronts Benoit

Rey Mysterio comes to the ring and talks about Chris Benoit's recent behavior. He then asks Benoit to come to the ring and talk to him. Benoit does come and he says that he's been going through some personal issues and that he doesn't need Rey meddling in them. Benoit then walks out, leaving Mysterio and the fans confused.

2. The Kings of Wrestling vs. The Spirit Squad to become number one contenders for the Undisputed Tag Team Titles

The Kings of Wrestling gets some major boos this week. End of the match came when Nicky distracted the referee and Johnny slid into the ring. The three in-ring members of the Spirit Squad attempted to attack Chris Hero but were met with several rolling cutters, better known to Hero as the Hero's Welcome and Mikey was eventually hit with an assisted Hero's Welcome Kings of Wrestling Edition where Claudio rolled the legs with Hero for the win. Kings of Wrestling leave the ring celebrating while Kenny and Mikey look peeved at Johnny and Nicky. Kenny and Mikey then attack Johnny and Nicky before leaving the ring as well.
Winners: The Kings of Wrestling

3. Backstage with London and Kendrick

We immediately cut backstage where Josh Grisham is standing with Paul London and Brian Kendrick. Grisham asks how they feel about now having to face the recently debuted Kings of Wrestling. London and Kendrick respond by saying that they've beaten tough opponent's before and they'll beat Hero and Castagnoli the exact same way.

4. CM Punk vs. Charlie Hass

Good high-flying, technical match-up with CM Punk picking up the win after hitting the Yurinagi-into-Anaconda-Vice combo for the submission victory.
Winner: CM Punk

5. Not Again...

We go backstage where we find Johnny Nitro laid out across the ground with a pool of blood behind his head, just like Eugene was at the last RAW. The announcers act confused as we go to commercial.

6. Paul Burchill vs. Eugene

Eugene is looking very uneasy after being brutally assaulted just last week. Burchill shows absolutely no remorse and beats the hell out of Eugene, very specifically aiming for the cut on his forehead from his attack at RAW. Burchill gets the win after a C-4 and a quick match.
Winner: Paul Burchill

7. Kane vs. Ken Kennedy

A brawling match-up between a fan favorite and a fan hated. Kennedy was able to get the roll-up with the tights after squirming out of a chokeslam. The Big Red Machine wasn't happy about this and immediately began attacking Kennedy after the match. The two ended up brawling all the way to the back.
Winner: Ken Kennedy

8. Chavo Guerrero vs. Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson finally returns to WWE television but the fans seem to have forgotten him a little. He faces off with Chavo Guerrero in his first match since winning the Cruiserweight championship. Guerrero was able to pick up the win after Bryan Danielson was knocked outside of the ring and Helms interfered with a steel chair to beat down the champion. The ref didn't see it after being to busy trying to fix a tampered turnbuckle so Helms rolled the champion into the ring and Guerrero got the win.
Winner: Chavo Guerrero

9. Triple H vs. Randy Orton

A good brawling match between these two men who no each other well after being in Evolution together a while back. Edge sneaks into the ring after a ref bump in order to hit a Spear. But Triple H doesn't stay down and Michaels ran out to the ring. Shawn starts brawling with Edge as Orton stalks HHH to his feet. Triple H dodges an incoming RKO and goes for the Pedigree but Orton escapes and this time he does hit the RKO. Michaels is to busy with Edge in order notice the pinfall in time and Orton picks up the win.
Winner: Randy Orton

10. John Cena Actually Raps!

Todd Grisham is backstage with John Cena. The interviewer asks Cena what he thinks about tonight's match with Finlay. Cena starts rapping about how Finlay's an Irish drunk and, without no king, he's nothing but a punk. Grisham then informs Cena that King Booker will be on commentary tonight. Cena just shrugs his shoulders and walks off.

11. Finlay vs. John Cena

With King Booker on commentary, John Cena and Finlay face off in the third brawling-heavy match of the night. Very simple match with very simple spots. Cena ends up hitting the shoulder blocks and the five-knuckle shuffle. When he picks up Finlay, though, he turns and face the commentary to give Booker a "You Can't See Me" before hitting the F-U for the win. Cena then celebrates his victory, rubbing it into the face of the upset King Booker.
Winner: John Cena

Quick Results

1. The Kings of Wrestling defeated a now split-up Spirit Squad to become the number one contenders for the Undisputed Tag Team Titles
2. CM Punk defeats Charlie Haas
3. Paul Burchill destroys Eugene
4. Ken Kennedy defeats Kane
5. Chavo Guerrero beats Bryan Danielson
6. Randy Orton defeats Triple H
7. John Cena defeats Finlay

1. Another Smackdown has come and gone. Bryan Danielson finally returned to television and Cena actually rapped.

Rate Smackdown 1-10. Good segments? Bad segments? Segments that could have been thrown away?

2. Smackdown had a slightly different style this week from RAW with a much quicker feel to the show.

Which did you prefere this week, quick results on Smackdown or more detailed results on RAW? Why?

3. With the Royal Rumble approaching quickly, the current WWE feuds are beginning to boil.

Which feuds are you enjoying? Which ones are you displeased with?

I didn't think any segments needed to be thrown away, but perhaps seperating a few matches from each other. You had four matches in a row which wouldn't happen on WWE TV, but then again EWR does limit you. 8/10.

2. Smackdown had a slightly different style this week from RAW with a much quicker feel to the show.

Which did you prefere this week, quick results on Smackdown or more detailed results on RAW? Why?

I loved this show's format compared to Raw. It had the same content as it would have but just without the unecessary details. It still got the point across.

3. With the Royal Rumble approaching quickly, the current WWE feuds are beginning to boil.

Benoit and Punk need feuds. It looks like you are setting something up between Mysterio and Benoit, but Punk and RVD could be great as well. Burchill can continue being the dominant guy, although a cool angle to see would be him beating down the CWs until they all unite against him.

TNA Final Resolution Buyrates and Attendance

TNA Final Resolution did well this past Sunday. The show's main event of Sting against Kurt Angle for the NWA Championship, with Kurt Angle winning, is being called one of Sting's best matches in quite a while.

The pay-per-view had a 0.96 buyrate with total ticket sales of 11,686. This is a great way for TNA to kick off the year.

WWE and TNA both in talks with MAJOR name

Sources told us that WWE and TNA are currently in talks with Chris Jericho to bring in the superstar.

Jericho left the WWE last year on good terms to pursue a music career with his band, Fozzie. However, Fozzie has also had a music video play on TNA iMPACT during the lead up to Bound for Glory. Both of the companies have ties with Jericho and Chris is known for joking on his webpage with images of him in front of either the TNA or WWE logos.

We will be sure to keep you informed of these developments.

Two HUGE Matches Announced for Royal Rumble!, Possible Spoilers

WWE.com has just announced two matches for their upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

The first is the anticipated Rated R-KO vs. Degeneration-X, however it will be in a Tables match. Sources say that this will be the blow-off match between the two sides as they split off to enter their own seperate feuds.

The second match that was announced is Bryan Danielson against Gregory Helms. Danielson picked up the Cruiserweight title on his debut on New Year's day and this is being forecasted as an early Match of the Year candidate.

Finally, rumors are bouncing all over the place about possible winners for the Royal Rumble. Some are saying that there is a general feeling that Rey Mysterio's push last year didn't go as well as planned and he could win the Rumble for the second time in a row and go to Wrestlemania for the title.

Benoit is also rumored for a possible win. However, some say that letting him hang onto the United States championship for a little while longer may be more better in order to continue his push.

Other names being thrown around are Shawn Michaels since the Royal Rumble will be held in front of his home town of San Antonio as well as CM Punk but the feeling is that Punk needs a little more time before getting into such a high position in the company.

The Road to the Rumble
January 15th, 2007

Tag Team Dominance
Last Friday, The Kings of Wrestling were able to defeat a now defunct Spirit Squad to become the number one contender's for the Undisputed Tag Team Titles. London and Kendrick have said they aren't afraid of the Kings and that they will retain their titles when they face the Kings of Wrestling. However, this week, Chris Hero will go one-on-one with Kid Kash while Brian Kendrick faces off with Jamie Noble. Will Kendrick and Hero each pick up wins or will The Pitbulls show that they are also a major team in the WWE?

Cold...
Once again, Paul Burchill has refused to give an injured opponent time to recuperate. This week, Burchill we be going one-on-one with Johnny Nitro, who fell victim to a savage attack last Smackdown at the hands of an unknown opponent. Will Burchill prove his dominance with another win or will Nitro get a surprise victory?

Helms in Action
This Monday, Gregory Helms will be in action for the first time since he lost to CM Punk nearly two weeks ago. The former Cruiserweight champion will be facing off against Matt Hardy, a former friend and bitter rival. With a match announced against Bryan Danielson at the Royal Rumble, Helms is sure to be wanting to have momentum going into the pay-per-view. Can Matt Hardy defeat Gregory Helms or will the former champion pick up the pinfall?

Blood Feud
A feud that has been going on since October, Rated R-KO and Degeneration-X despise each other and are certain to attempt to destroy each other at their Tables match at the Royal Rumble. However, at RAW, it will be the Rated-R Superstar Edge facing off against the Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels. Will Rated R-KO keep up their streak against D-X or will Michaels finally turn things around for Degeneration-X?
