WrestlingNews.com Poll

1. The final RAW before the Royal Rumble, yet more feuds were progressed this Monday. An upset victory by The Kings of Wrestling over D-X was the main shocker of the night.

As usual, how was RAW? Any improvements that need to be made in layout or anything like that?

2. The WWE is currently interested in pushing wrestlers that aren't currently being pushed. They feel that now is the time to make new stars, before TNA reaches a point where it can truly challenge for dominance.

Which of the current WWE superstars should get a bigger push?

I'm getting tired of answering this question. I have to say that you do a good job of using as much of your talent as possible, which is a plus.

World's Greatest Tag Team. Super Crazy.

Rabid Explanation
Chris Benoit's strange actions over the past several weeks continued last week when he attacked Rey Mysterio during his match with Paul Burchill. Benoit has since stayed well out of the public spotlight but on this Friday's edition of Smackdown, the United States Champion will explain his actions. Why did Benoit attack Mysterio? We'll find out this Friday.

Rivalry
Ever since Shelton Benjamin accepted CM Punk's challenge on the last edition of Smackdown, the two have begun a heated rivalry. This Friday, CM Punk will take on Shelton's tag team partner, Charlie Haas. With the Royal Rumble right around the corner, will Punk pick up the win or will Haas be able to defeat his friend's rival?

Pick Their Poison
King Booker and John Cena have been at each other's throats ever since Cena defeated Booker to become the Undisputed champion. On the next edition of Smackdown, the pair will be able to pick each other's opponents. We have already received word that both men immediately attempted to get Kane to be the other man's opponent, but apparently Cena got their first. Will Booker be able to defeat the Big Red Machine? Who will Cena's opponent be?

Eight Man Tag
After the events that unfolded last Monday when the match between D-X and The Kings of Wrestling devolved into a four team brawl, this Friday it will be Degeneration-X with London and Kendrick against Rated R-KO with The Kings of Wrestling. With all four teams looking to trying to pick up momentum going into the Royal Rumble, will there be any in-team turmoil? Will Rated R-KO and The Kings of Wrestling cheat their way to victory or will D-X and London and Kendrick be able to defeat their opponents?

Smackdown (1/26/07)

1. Explanation

The show kicks off with Chris Benoit already in the ring. Benoit explains that he has been the one attacking everyone backstage. He felt that none of the men he attacked deserved to be in the WWE. Super Crazy does nothing but flip, Eugene is a gimmick, and Johnny Nitro needs to go back to Hollywood. Benoit then says that he attacked Mysterio because he was becoming annoying and only won the World Heavyweight Championship because of the death of their mutual friend, Eddie Guerrero. Mysterio's music hits and Rey makes his way to the ring. Mysterio says that he doesn't know what is wrong with Benoit's head, but he knows he will defeat Benoit at Survivor Series and take his title. Benoit looks pissed at this and suddenly attacks Mysterio. The pair brawl before being seperated by security.

2. CM Punk vs. Charlie Haas

Haas makes his way to the ring with Shelton Benjamin, who takes a seat at the announce table. CM Punk gets booed as he enters the ring and the match starts. A strong technical match with lots of submission attempts by both men, Punk wins after hitting the Pepsi Twist and then putting Hass into the Devil Lock. Punk and Benjamin stare each other down and shout threats at each other before going to commercial break.
Winner: CM Punk

3. Another Match Announced

Returning from commercial, Paul Burchill is walking backstage when he is confronted by Super Crazy and Eugene. The pair say that even though it was Benoit that attacked them, it was Burchill who finished them off. Crazy and Eugene then tell Paul that it will be them against him in a two-on-one handicap match at the Royal Rumble. Burchill tells them that that is just great but if they get to make a match, so does he. Tonight, rather than facing him, Super Crazy will be facing Chavo Guerrero.

4. Chavo Guerrero vs. Super Crazy

Super Crazy makes his way to the ring with Eugene to a moderate pop. Chavo and Crazy put on a good luchadore style match with lots of highspots. Just when it looks like Crazy is about to win with a moonsault, Burchill appears and shoves his Survivor Series opponent off the turnbuckle, allowing Chavo to get a rollup with the tights for the win. Burchill gets into the ring and starts stomping a mudhole in Super Crazy. Eugene enters the ring and tries to stop him but Burchill just turns around and gives him a C-4
Winner: Chavo Guerrero

5. An Honor

John Cena is walking backstage when he is approached by Bryan Danielson. Bryan tells Cena that King Booker has named him Cena's opponent tonight. Danielson then says that it will be an honor to face the Undisputed champion. As Bryan walks off, Cena looks impressed by the young talent and his honorable ways.

6. Chris Benoit vs. Val Venis

Absolute squash with Benoit picking up lots of heat while Mysterio ends up watching from the runway. Venis got in little offense before Benoit hit him with four german suplexes, the diving headbutt, and then locked in the Crossface for the win. The United States Champion then had a staredown with Rey.
Winner: Chris Benoit

7. T-Bone Theft

Shelton Benjamin is shown backstage talking to Charlie Haas when CM Punk appears at of nowhere and hits Benjamin with a T-Bone Suplex, Shelton's own finisher. Punk immediately runs off as Haas tends to his partner.

8. Kane vs. King Booker

Kane played the face but still got a mixed reaction. A good match with Booker playing the cowardly heel to Kane's monster, Booker was able to pick up the win after untying a turnbuckle padding and running Kane into it. Booker then hit the axe kick for the win. The number one contender's music plays, suddenly skips, but restarts as Booker walks away.
Winner: King Booker

9. D-X Filler Interview!!!

Shawn Michaels and Triple H are backstage with Todd Grisham. Todd asks them how they feel having to face off against both Rated R-KO and The Kings of Wrestling just days before having to face Edge and Orton in a tables match. D-X does their usual insults before putting over London and Kendrick as the best Tag Team Champions in a long time. Michaels then finishes by saying that the ones who deserve to go through a table at Survivor Series, will be sent through a table.

10. John Cena vs. Bryan Danielson

Cena gets the crowd to go nuts, Danielson gets a stronger reaction than usual due to his show of respect to Cena, handshake before the start, and the bell rings. Danielson does his usual technical wrestling but Cena is able to hold on well. One ref bump and a wicked enziguiri later, and Bryan Danielson locks in the Cattle Mutilation. Just then, Gregory Helms rolls into the ring and hits Danielson with a steel chair, forcing him to release the hold. Helms hits Danielson a few more times but when Cena starts showing signs of life, Gregory gets out of the ring. Not knowing what just happened, Cena hits Danielson with the FU and goes for the pinfall. The referee has just barely recovered but is able to call the three count. After Cena leaves the ring, his music skipping just a bit like Booker's, Helms rolls back in with the steel chair in hand. Cena sees this and rolls back into the ring and runs Helms off. The Undisputed Champion then helps Danielson to his feet and raises the cruiserweight's hand.
Winner: John Cena

11. Rated R-KO and The Kings of Wrestling vs. Degeneration-X and London and Kendrick

A good 8 man tag team match, London and Kendrick are able to feed off D-X for a big pop while The Kings of Wrestling get the same trickle down effect from Rated R-KO. Lots of high flying from the cruiserweights and standard WWE style wrestling from D-X and R-KO. End of match comes when Michaels is able to hit the Sweet Chin Music on Castagnoli, and tag in Paul London, who climbs the turnbuckle to hit a 450 splash. When Edge, Orton, and Hero try to get into the ring to stop the pinfall, D-X and Kendrick stop them, causing a brawl, and London picks up the win. The two teams then brawl a bit more before the heels are forced out of the ring and the faces shake hands and celebrate.
Winners: D-X and London and Kendrick

Quick Results:

1. CM Punk defeats Charlie Haas
2. Chavo Guerrero beats Super Crazy
3. Chris Benoit squashes Val Venis
4. King Booker cheats his way to victory against Kane
5. John Cena defeats Bryan Danielson
6. D-X and London and Kendrick defeat Rated R-KO and The Kings of Wrestling

I think that's the first time I got all my prediction correct. Anyways, I didn't expect Benoit to be the attacker, to be honest I always thought it was Burchill. I assume this was the last show before the Rumble; a show I'm greatly looking forward to.

re: WWE: Fighting The War - Wrestlemania Posted

I figured no one would realize that Benoit was behind it the whole time. The only two hints I really dropped was that fact that he was backstage just before Eugene was attacked and when Mysterio got attacked. I figured that in real life, it would be a good way to get Benoit turned heel quickly. He attacked two midcard faces, a midcard heel, and an upper midcard face for no real reason. I could just see him showing the actual footage of the attack having him beat the living daylights out of his victims and picking up tons of heat. I dropped hints to something else in one of the past three shows. It's completely unrelated to Benoit and real subtly, but it'll be apparent at the PPV what it was.

Speaking of, the Royal Rumble has been simulated and I made a cruddy preview banner for it (well, not really cruddy, just not as amazing as what other people make). The preview should be up later today.

The Royal Rumble
January 28th, 2007

Tag Team Turmoil
The teams of London and Kendrick, Doane and Mondo, and The Kings of Wrestling have been battling over the Undisputed Tag Team Titles since the beginning of this year. The three teams will finally meet this Sunday when they go head-to-head in a triangle tag team match where the first team to get the win gets the titles. Will London and Kendrick retain their titles? Will The Kings of Wrestling fulfill their promise and take the most prestigious tag team titles in wrestling? Or will Doane and Mondo, the underdog team, be able to pick up the win and get their first taste of the tag team gold since the dissolving of the Spirit Squad?

Honor vs. Dishonor
Ever since Bryan Danielson was able to win the Cruiserweight Title from Gregory Helms on New Year's Day, the two have been feuding for control of the title. Danielson insists that his sense of honor will allow him to retain his title while Helms has already made it clear that he will do anything to take back the title he feels is his. Will the American Dragon keep his gold or will Helms cheat his way to victory?

End of a Friendship
Chris Benoit's actions became clear last week when he admitted to being the attacker of Eugene, Super Crazy, Johnny Nitro, and Rey Mysterio. Now, Benoit's former friend Rey Mysterio will try and take the United States Championship from the rabid wolverine. With Chris Benoit's personality shifting into something more brutal than he has ever been, will Mysterio be able to overcome the crippler and become the United States Champion?

Blood Feud
Degeneration-X and Rated R-KO. Two tag teams that have been feuding for several months and it all comes to an end at the Royal Rumble. Rated R-KO has sworn that they will kill the legends of D-X and they have been living up to that promise by defeating HBK and HHH several times over this past month. D-X, however, has the momentum going into the match after defeating Rated R-KO last Monday in an eight man tag team match. With the only way to win being putting an opponent through a table, will Rated R-KO finish what they have started or will Degeneration-X cement their legacy in the splinters of crushed table?

Locked Away
John Cena and King Booker's bad blood goes all the way back to the Champion of Champions match at Cyber Sunday. However, the battle was truly joined when Cena was able to defeat Booker to become the WWE Undisputed Champion. Ever since then, Booker and Cena have been battling with each other in a ferocious feud that has seen both men pick up wins over each other. Now, locked in a cage where the only way to win the title is by climbing over the top, King Booker and John Cena are surely prepared to do whatever it takes to be the Undisputed Champion. Will it be the king or the rapper who escapes the cage first and is named the champion?
