WrestlingNews.com Poll 1. What was your favorite show this week (Royal Rumble, RAW, Smackdown, or Heat)? Why? My favorite was the Royal Rumble followed by Smackdown. The Rumble was a top show, and I think Smackdown did a good job of revealing the direction of the next month. 2. Do you like the prediction contest? Any problems with it at all? The only problem I have with it is that its only a two way competition. 3. What feuds do you like? What feuds do you not like? I'm assuming you'll have a Rated RKO/Taker and Cena feud until No Way Out, then switch it to Edge vs Orton and Taker vs Cena for WM. I'm hoping the HHH/HBK feud can go for a while.

Nice to see a heat show developing the less over talent, very good idea. And it had some awesome matches too.
I don't really think you should have an ongoing prediction contest. It's much better to give and receive detailed comments than predictions. Predictions are ok for PPVs but not for every show. Obviously people can still post them but just dont encourage it ahead of feedback.

Nice diary Crippler, sorry for not getting around to reply in it, but I have been reading along.
Can't wait to the next PPV, No Way Out! Your building it up well! I also like the way you are pushing such superstars as Paul Burchill, Matt Hardy and CM Punk who have an extreme amount of talent. Keep up the good work, Crippler, it's been a great read so far!

I'm glad you like the potential hires. To tell the truth, before yesterday I had no idea who Jack Evans was. I don't really have access to ROH DVDs or anything of the like so I just go digging through the internet for tribute or match videos whenever I want to find a good wrestler to hire. However, from what I've seen, Evans is freaking awesome.
Also, on your prediction contest comment from earlier, I don't feel to worried about it lowering actual feedback. I was getting predictions before the contest so I figured it might be a fun idea. However, I doubt the contest will last very long since I'm planning an indie hiring spree around Wrestlemania. In conclusion, I'd like to thank everyone who leaves feedback here in the diary. It's really cool to see some of the the users who have been here much longer than me comment.

![]() A New Era February 5th, 2007 New GM The WWE has been without a General Manager ever since Vince McMahon officially announced the end of the brand split between RAW and Smackdown. Last week, however, the CEO announced that to open this Monday's edition of RAW, he will be naming the newest WWE GM. Who will it be? Do-Gooder vs. Straight-Edge CM Punk assaulted Bryan Danielson during his match against Matt Hardy last Sunday on the debut of Sunday Night Heat. Punk's plan to weaken Danielson was ruined, however, by Danielson's opponent, Matt Hardy. That same night, CM Punk layed down a challenge to Hardy, a match on RAW. Matt Hardy has accepted the challenge and this Monday, Matt Hardy and CM Punk will face off in the squared circle. Will Punk continue his winning streak or will Hardy be able to end the straight-edge's perfect record? Monster In Action Last Friday on Smackdown, Kane was defeated by Paul Burchill but only after being hit twice with a steel chair. This Monday, Kane will go one-on-one with the former ECW extremist, Sabu. After the fallout from their match on Smackdown, word has it that both Kane and Burchill have beeen wanting to get a piece of each other. Will Kane defeat Sabu or will Paul Burchill make his presence known? Deadman Walking Edge and Randy Orton have already defeated Degeneration-X but it is apparent that they have now turned their eyes toward the Undisputed champion, John Cena, and the number one contender, The Undertaker. This Monday, Edge will face off with The Undertaker in a singles match. With Randy Orton waiting in the wings, will Edge be able to pick up the pinfall or will the American Badass have something to say about that? Scheduled Events Vince McMahon Announces New GM Singles Match CM Punk vs. Matt Hardy Singles Match Kane vs. Sabu Tag Team Match The Kings of Wrestling vs. Val Venis and Funaki Singles Match Booker T vs. Triple H Singles Match Edge vs. The Undertaker

![]() RAW (1/5/2007): 1. The Only Man For The Job RAW opens with Vince McMahon standing in the ring. He talks about how the new General Manager of the WWE will need to be smart enough to know what matches the fans want to see. He says that the new GM will need to understand the ins and outs of the wrestling business. Finally, and most importantly, the new General Manager must be a skilled business man. Vince says that there is only one man who fits all three of these key prerequisites and that man is... John Bradshaw Layfield! JBL makes his way to the ring and says that it is an honor to be in control of the WWE product and he will start his job by announcing that in tonight's main event it will be The Undertaker against Edge. 2. CM Punk vs. Matt Hardy A brutal match between two great wrestlers. Both men came off very strong in an opening match that lasted over ten minutes. However, it was only a matter of time before Matt Hardy had CM Punk set up for the Twist of Fate. Just as the move was about to be executed, Punk quickly countered by hitting a Urinagi and locking in the Anaconda Vice. Hardy struggled to get free but was eventually forced to tap out. The ref tries to make Punk release the hold but he keeps it on until security runs into the ring, forcing Punk to release the hold. Winner: CM Punk 3. Only The Beginning... Paul Burchill is standing backstage with Todd Grisham. Todd asks Burchill whether or not he having to cheat in order to defeat Kane will tarnish his undefeated record in anyway. Burchill responds with a simple "no". Grisham is about to ask another question when Kane runs in out of nowhere and hits Burchill upside the head with a steel chair. He crouches down, telling Burchill that this is only the beginning and there is only room for one monster in the WWE. Kane then hits Burchill several more times with the chair before walking off while laughing sadistically. 4. The Kings of Wrestling vs. Val Venis and Funaki A basic squash match between the tag team champions and a thrown together team of jobbers. KoW is able to pick up the pinfall quickly after Claudio Castagnoli hit the Ricola Bomb on Funaki and Chris Hero hit the Hero's Welcome on Venis. Winners: The Kings of Wrestling 5. No One Backstage in is locker room, Chris Benoit talks about how he became the United States champion earlier this month. Ever since then, he has taken on all challengers and has won ever time. He finishes by saying that absolutely no one currently under WWE contract can defeat him. Benoit then leaves and a digital clock in the background can clearly be seen reading 7:00. 6. The Hooliganz Get Their Match JBL is seen in his office when The Hooliganz come barging in. They talk about how The Kings of Wrestling have put challenge after challenge before them and they have completed each one and that they now want their match with the champs. Bradshaw looks like he's considering the match before agreeing with London and Kendrick that they do deserve a match with Claudio and Hero. So, this Friday, it will be The Hooliganz against The Kings of Wrestling in a... non-title match! The Hooliganz faces turn from smiles to frowns before they are hurried out the door by JBL. 7. Triple H vs. Booker T A good match up that got the crowd on their feet, both men were allowed to do their signature spots, including Booker T bringing back the Spinaroonie. However, it is Triple H who is able to get the win after barely dodging a scissors kick and hitting the Pedigree. Triple H walks up the ramp and is about to go through the curtain when a foot connects with his chin. Triple H falls to the ground as Shawn Michaels comes out from behind the curtain where he was hiding. Battering his former friend with kicks and punches, Michaels beats down Triple H before eventually standing him back up only to hit another Sweet Chin Music. Security rushes out from the back but Michaels just walks away, the damage already done. Winner: Triple H 8. A Heated Challenge Todd Grisham is backstage with Bryan Danielson. Grisham asks the Cruiserweight champion how he's doing after the brutal attack by CM Punk yesterday on Sunday Night Heat's debut. After clips show of the attack, Danielson starts talking about how Punk showed no honor on Heat by attacking him in the middle of a match. He then goes on to say that the man who does have honor is Matt Hardy, who stopped Punk from doing even more damage last Sunday. Danielson then says that that is why he is now officially challenging CM Punk to a tag team match this Sunday on Heat. It will be Danielson and Hardy against CM Punk and whoever he can get to join him. Danielson then walks off knowing his point has been made. 9. Kane vs. Sabu A decent match that was a bit short, both Kane and Sabu came off well but Kane had control for much of the match. After the referee got knocked down, Sabu grabbed a chair to try and hit an Arabian Facebuster on the layed out Kane. However, just after Sabu lept off the top turnbuckle, Kane sat up causing the extremist to crash and burn. The Big Red Machine glanced around, appearing to be making sure that Burchill is not going to attack him, before picking up the steel chair. Just then, Kane noticed the referee was getting back up. Tossing the chair to the outside, Kane hit a chokeslam before covering Sabu. The referee was just able to make the three count and Kane picked up the win. Winner: Kane 10. Yeah... This Is Filler The Undertaker is shown walking backstage, heading for the ring entrance. 11. Edge vs. The Undertaker Both men did well in this twenty minute main event match. Control switched back and forth all night with neither man coming off stronger than the other. The end of the match came when Edge had The Undertaker set up for the Spear. However, Taker was just able to dodge out of the way and Edge ran into the turnbuckle. Undertaker picked Edge up and was about to hit the Last Ride when a steel chair connected with his back. The referee rang for the bell as The Undertaker dropped Edge so he could turn around. The number one contender was met with an RKO from Randy Orton. Edge and Orton began beating down Taker when the crowd began to cheer and John Cena ran to the ring with a steel pipe in hand. Rated R-KO bail as Cena helps Taker to his feet and RAW fades out. Winner: The Undertaker Quick Results: 1. CM Punk defeats Matt Hardy 2. The Kings of Wrestling defeat Val Venis and Funaki 3. Triple H defeats Booker T 4. Kane defeats Sabu 5. The Undertaker defeats Edge

Nice to see JBL as GM, he's a great heel and good for the position. I had some plans for him in my old diary so I look forward to seeing how he's used.
Damn right Trips vs Booker would be a great match, I remember seeing them face each other at mania one time for the title, book actually did the Houston Hangover, it was great. The Raw main event scene isn't interesting me as much as the rest of the card at the moment, everything's pretty standard (and I'm not a fan of Cena or Taker), hopefully business will pick up in the coming shows.

![]() Under New Management February 9th, 2007 Unexpected Twist After completing challenge after challenge after challenge, The Hooliganz have finally gotten their match against The Kings of Wrestling... to an extent. New WWE General Manager, John Bradshaw Layfield, has stated that he feels that The Hooliganz vs. The Kings of Wrestling for the Undisputed Tag Team titles is a match that is worth too much to just put on free television, instead that match will be held off until No Way Out. However, this Friday on Smackdown, The Hooliganz and The Kings of Wrestling will face off, just in a non-title match. Will The Hooliganz continue their recent winning streak or will The Kings of Wrestling show why they're the champions? Former Friends Shawn Michaels and Triple H have been both allies and enemies but it is difficult to remember the last time that there was this much animosity between the former members of Degeneration-X. After sneak attacking Triple H last week, Shawn Michaels has gone on the record that he is not worried about any retaliation simply because Hunter is most likely still feeling the effects of the two Sweet Chin Music's that were delivered this past Monday. However, The Heart Break Kid will be in action this Friday against former WWE champion, Rob Van Dam. Is Michaels right to assume that Triple H will not be in attendence or will HBK's arrogance be his downfall? Rated R-KO Lives Despite formally ending their tag team relationship more than a week ago, both Edge and Randy Orton are obviously still on the same page. After both men have attacked the WWE Undisputed champion, John Cena, and the number one contender, The Undertaker, it is clear that both are attempting to get back into the title hunt and will continue their alliance if they see it will get them that much closer to the title. However, their attacks have merely caused the two men who should be enemies heading into Wrestlemania to align themselves together to defeat the upstarts. This Friday, Rated R-KO will take on John Cena and The Undertaker. Will Cena and Taker pick up the win or will their differences over come the chance to end Edge and Orton's attacks? Scheduled Matches Singles Match Bryan Danielson vs. Tajiri Tag Team Match The Hooliganz vs. The Kings of Wrestling Singles Match Paul Burchill vs. Val Venis Singles Match Chris Benoit vs. Finlay Singles Match Rob Van Dam vs. Shawn Michaels Tag Team Match Rated R-KO vs. John Cena and The Undertaker This message was edited by thecrippler on Dec 28 2006.
