WCW 2001- What would happen if Turner didn't sell? - Thunder Up!
|
After losing some top talent to the WWF, Ted Turner was in some need of new talent. Ted Turner knew that Booker T, Goldberg, Sting, Ric Flair, and a few others wouldn't be able to keep WCW up forever. He needed to build more stars. And... what better place to find talent, other than in ECW and CZW? With some of the top talent in industry, Ted Turner knew that he was making the right decision by stealing talent from ECW and CZW. However... would this be able to help WCW from becoming just another name under the WWF umbrella? Note: I forgot to change the date on my computer when I started my game, and I've made a lot of changes, so I'd hate to have to start the game over to change the dead. The first Nitro will be Monday, December 4th, 2001. And if you were to look at the clock on your computer, you'd know that December 4th was a Tuesday in '01. So don't pay attention to the dates, lol. This message was edited by The Franchise Player on Dec 10 2006.

Monday Night Nitro Preview December 4th, 2001
Hardcore Invitational
As announced on WCW.com, there will be an invitational for the WCW Hardcore Championship this Monday night. There are no limits as to who can get in on this, but no matter what, Terry Funk will be facing his hardest challenge to date! Will the hardcore legend be able to overcome the odds of what's to come?
Canada vs. America
In a tag team match, Lance Storm and Elix Skipper will team up to take on Jim Duggan and a partner of his choosing in a "flag" match. The winners of the match-up will get to sing their national anthem, while waving their flag high in the air. Will "America" be able to pull out a win against Team Canada?
It's a bird! It's a plane...
WCW holds the greatest cruiserweights in the world, and at Monday Night Nitro, that will be proven. In a fatal four way for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship, Chavo Guerrero Jr. will defend against Billy Kidman, Paul London, and a suprise, mystery, opponent. Who will the mystery opponent be? And will Chavo be able to overcome the odds?
You're special!
Eric Bischoff will be at Nitro, but he's got a few announcements that will effect WCW. What does Bischoff have to say? And how big can the announcements be if they'll effect WCW?
Number one
In the main event for Nitro, a new #1 contender for Scott Steiner's WCW World Championship will be crowned as Goldberg takes on Sting. Which man will come out with a title shot against Steiner at Starrcade later this month?Scheduled Matches
WCW Hardcore Championship Terry Funk (c) vs. ??????

WCW MONDAY NITRODecember 4th, 2001 Segment OneAs Nitro opens up on it's new home, the USA Network, Eric Bischoff is seen in the ring. Bischoff announces that started on Thunder, there will be a tournament for the vacant WCW TV title. The two finalists of the tournament would face-off at Starrcade on December 17th for the vacant title! Bischoff also says that the WCW has been in a bit of a slump lately, and he has picked up who is considered the top indy worker in the industry. Just then, Rob Van Dam hits the ring. Bischoff smiles, as he rubs Van Dam's shoulders. Bischoff announces that next on Thunder this coming week, we would see Rob Van Dam take on Rey Misterio Jr. and Shane Helms in a first round TV tournament match. Segment Two (Match One) Terry Funk (c) vs. ?????? - WCW Hardcore ChampionshipAfter making his entrance, ECW superstar Steve Corino made his appearance, being announced as the surprise opponent for the match. The younger of the two extremists, Steve Corino, made a huge impact in this match, as he dominated the entire bout. In the end, it was Steve Corino defeated Terry Funk after nailing the Old School Expulsion on a steel chair. Segment ThreeAfter a breif commercial break, the scene fades back in to see Steve Corino backstage with his newly won WCW Hardcore Championship. Corino says that the WCW Hardcore Championship, and Terry Funk, is just a stepping stone for him in this company. What he did to Terry Funk was just a "small taste" of what he has planned for the rest of the roster. Segment Four (Match Two) Team Canada (Elix Skipper/Lance Storm) vs. Jim Duggan/?????? - Flag MatchNone other than "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes was announced as Duggan's partner. Elix Skipper and Lance Storm defeated Jim Duggan and Dusty Rhodes after a collision with the referee, leading to interference from Kid Romeo and Mike Awesome. Team Canada left Dusty Rhodes and Jim Duggan a bloody mess in the ring, and than covered them with the American flag. Shortly after, Dustin Rhodes came out to tend to his father and Jim Duggan. Segment Five (Match Three) Chavo Guerrero Jr. (c) vs. Billy Kidman vs. Paul London vs. ????? - WCW Cruiserweight ChampionshipThe surprise opponent in the match was none other than one of the top Japanese superstars in the industry, Jushin Thunder Liger. Chavo Guerrero Jr. won the match via DQ when Konnan came out to help Kidman. Chavo Gurerro and Jushin Liger both attacked Kidman and Konnan, getting them out of the ring after the match. Segment SixThe scene fades to the parking lot, as we see Goldberg arriving. With no expression on his face at all, Goldberg makes his way to the backstage area of the arena. Segment Seven (Match Four) General Rection vs. Jeff JarrettJeff Jarrett defeats General Rection with a low blow while the referee wasn't looking. After the match, Jarrett grabbed his guitar, and went to hit General Rection, however, the other two members of the Misfits in Action ran to the ring to save him. Jarrett swung the guitar randomly, however, it only resulted in the Misfits in Action fleeing from Jarrett. Segment EightAfter a commercial break, we see the members of Misfits in Action backstage. They're in an "angry" mood, and say that Jarrett has to fight General Rection and Corporal Cajun next week in a handicap match. Segment Nine (Match Five) InSiders vs. Jindrak and O'HaireInSiders defeat Jindrak and O'Haire when Diamond Dallas Page pins Mark Jindrak. After the match, while the InSiders are declared the winners, Chuck Palumbo and Shawn Stasiak hit the ring. The InSiders take down Palumbo and Stasiak, but only until O'Haire and Jindrak attack them from behind. The numbers game catches up on the InSiders, as four of the five members of Natural Born Thrillers take out the InSiders. Segment TenAll the members of the Magnificent Seven are standing backstage, as they get ready to watch the up-coming Sting vs. Goldberg match on a near-by monitor. Segment Eleven (Match Six) Sting vs. Goldberg - #1 Contenders MatchAfter interference from Scott Steiner, the match between Sting and Goldberg ends in a draw. Steiner continues the attack on Sting, until Goldberg intervenes. Goldberg and Steiner begin to go at it, until Sting recovers. All three of the men in the ring; Sting, Goldberg, and Steiner, brawl it out as Nitro fades off the air.
