re: Forum Feedback & Information

If it happens in this forum, drop me a Private Message and I will be sure to put it right.

While I can see how this issue obviously annoys the people whose diaries were closed [especially someone like JerichoMark who was the lightest offender] I want to set a precedent for this forum so that no one feels it is acceptable to steal material from others.

By all means ASK others if you can use their layouts, being polite goes a long way. In the past Audiobank asked if he could use my layout, I said yes. It's the "ooo, I like that, I'm having it" nature that I think is ridiculous that I want to stamp out.

Hold on, I've stolen the Layout of the Header from you not the actual header. I've only stolen 1 logo from you which is the current diary I'm trying to re-open. I never stole your belts, if I'm wrong please link.

In the SVR07 Forum, my diary belts, i can't lie because you got rid of them as Dash the Stampede made you remove them. You didn't steal my header but you copied my header, the one that Unprettier made ages ago!

re: Forum Feedback & Information

I never used belt pictures when I played EWR; I'm not even sure it's possible. Can anyone help Rock Star XXVI out?

Anyway, I have been thinking about implementing a system used on the greydogsoftware forums, whereby each month a diary is stickied at the top of the forum. I believe they have a vote each month to decide it, but I'm not entirely sure.

My questions for the forum are:

1) Would you like to see a system like that in place to reward your favourite diary each month?
2) Would you actually vote to decide the chosen diary or would you prefer I judged it myself?

Obviously you wouldn't be able to vote for yourself, and the same diary couldn't win in consecutive months.

re: Forum Feedback & Information

That'd be a good idea in my opinion. A popular vote would be nice, because it could be hard on you to read so many diaries and make the vote yourself. Plus I think a popular vote would mean more.

re: Forum Feedback & Information

I think that it is a good idea but the only problem with the popular vote is people will inevitably become bored voting every month and just not do it. I think there should be a panel of top diary writers who judge what has been the best diary of the month for whatever reasons.

re: Forum Feedback & Information

My thoughts exactly, ryan_offspring, people will eventually become bored and only one or two will vote. That was the biggest potential flaw I could see, which is why I suggested perhaps I decide for myself. Your panel idea sounds like a good compromise between the two, however, and could possibly be the way to go.

re: Forum Feedback & Information

I don't think the best dairy thing is a good idea, if 8/10 people are reading the best dairy of each month then rookie attemps will not got read and won't get enough feedback meaning that this forum will lose new members and potentail great dairy's

Also it could also create arguaments if someone thinks that there dairy is the best but it doesn't get "dairy of the month" then he won't be best happy about it and will leave the forum.

And as for the "layout stealing" it doesn't really matter nobody reads the dairy for the layout they read it for the style of writing, the storylines, the booking etc

re: Forum Feedback & Information

As for the diary suggestion, Slim Jim, I think to avoid boredom you could possibly theme the vote each month. For example, the theme for one month could be WWE Diaries, or TNA/ROH Diaries or Self Promotion Diaries. Or, if there is a problem such as a WWE vote one month, and then the majority of the forum's diaries on the next vote are WWE again, maybe you could split them into categories then. If you could make sense of that

re: Forum Feedback & Information

Hey just wondering how things are going with the diary of the month? Ways to decide what is the DOTM so it isn't the same one every month could be like - Most Improved, Rookie diary of the month etc but I feel that it is a great idea and should be followed through on.

Also could someone give me the code for centering text?

re: Forum Feedback & Information

I am still thinking about DOTM. At the moment, I am leaning towards having one WWE and one non-WWE each month voted for by a panel of judges [which will be subject to change each month] with diaries in the Hall Of Fame exempt from being selected as they already have recognition.

Also:

code
[div align=center]Text Here[/div]

That becomes:

Text Here
