Metal Gear Solid Pc

I can not get any higher graphic capabilities than software mode. I have a laptop running a 6600 go nvidia. Anyone have an idea. Please help!!

I've been searching all over the internet and I finally found the source of the problem but no practical solution.

MGS requires 8bit palletted texture support.

Geforce 6, 7 and 8 cards have no 8bit palletted texture support and forceware 77.77 and higher don't have it either. Only a Geforce 5/FX and lower card with a driver below 77.77 can run the game.
