I've seen lots of reviews, comments and top ten lists and snake eater won almost in every aspect.
I slightly incline for snake eater, but anyway sons of liberty have its moves.
which one do you prefer?

IMO Sons of Liberty has more 'awesome' moments then Snake Eater, what with Solidus and the RAYs and all that, and personally I think the story is better(once you actually figure out what's going on, that is). SE has better graphics, and if you don't count the final hour or so of SoL(from when you first get inside Arsenal onward), I think SE has better gameplay. Overall, though, I think SoL is better to watch as a movie or somesuch, while SE is better as an actual game.

Sons of Liberty felt too much like a 7 hour long interactive cutscene; you watched rather than played.
Snake Eater offered better gameplay,a story that made sense and some of the best boss fights since Metal Gear Solid.
Out of both SoL and SE,I'd say SE was the best.

I preffered the setting and bosses in Sons of Liberty.

But I preffered the story and characters in Snake Eater.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite. They each have different strengths and weaknesses. They're both equal, imo. (But I like MGS1 better than both of them).

Sons Of Liberity was great but Snake Eater has a better story, characters,camo, facepaint, the curing system, GUNS

Maybe Snake Eater is better... But I like the weapons better in SoL though hehe.
Anyway, I am happy that the Codec calls are only long in the beginning in SE... Compared to SoL where they take like ten minutes per call. But then I suppose there is more to explain in SoL really.

I prefer MGS1 that is the best was up all night yesterday from 1am-7am playing it. I mean the storyline is the best and not to mention the fight with liquid snake on Metal Gear Rex's head that was the best. I liked MGS2 that was pretty good but as for Snake eater well I thought it was too short and didn't enjoy it as much as other MGS games. Best part of snake eater is messing around with time to kill the end of blowing him up in his wheelchair and eating his parriot thats the only fun I had in Snakeeater.

This is by far my favourite MGS game so far, so i prefer this over snake eater.

The only reason MGS2 sold more than MGS3 was because there was far too much hype over it than MGS3. Needless to say, MGS3 was way better.

_{Sons of Liberty has way too much cutscenes and dialogue and far too little actual gameplay imo. Working out a story is fine, but it shouldn't come to the point where you feel like you're watching a movie rather than playing a game. =/}

Whilst I think Snake Eater is the greater game and I would choose to play it more often than MGS2...MGS2 has the greater storyline and takes much longer for me...I'm finding now on MGS3 that I'm getting to Grazny Grad in about 2 hours of gameplay...I know on MGS2 I would never get that far in that amount of time...The ability to camouflage removes some of the stealth in a way because you don't have to rely on yourself as much...On MGS2 there were less places to hide and you really had to be meticulous in everything...I love Snake Eater though with it's little extra touches and realism...If MGS2 had those it would be perfect...As a story MGS2 > MGS3...As a game though MGS3 > MGS2...Love both though...
