Comparison: Rambo: First Blood and MGS |
|
Just wanted to point out some similarities between the MGS series, and the film RAMBO:First blood.
1. The colonel guy with berret. 2. MGS2 and RAMBO:FB start with the main character walking along a bridge in the rain (similar looking bridge - kinda) 3. Both Rambo, and snake (in mgs2) have MULLETS and a Bandanna. 4. Both take on seemingly impossible wars against hundreds of enemies armed to the teeth with guns. 5. Both Win (unless you suck at the game). 6. Both main characters rely on their ability to hide for survival. Finally both provided me with MUCH entertainment. You could also compare the terrorist situations to Die Hard, although thats not as obvious (other than 1 guy vs. lots of armed terrorists.) Hope you enjoyed that. I wanted to share it with some-one, and am sure most of you already saw the similarities. If you think i've missed any, feel free to add your own ------------------- http://hits4pay.com/members/index.cgi?SDFM Go there to get paid by just reading emails! Haven't seen it in years, ill have to check it out again to see more comparisons, Am I wrong or did most of it take place in Jungle environment ? Or was that a sequel ?
Saying that though - Metal Gear Jungle, that could be interesting ?! setting traps and the like...hmmm ------------------- ![]() 'Your wish, captain, my captain, is my keystroke, colon, double backslash, execute, command.'

quote Dead RabbitWell it was kinda in a woodland area, I think the second one was the jungle one quote _RAWisWAR_Jeez whats your problem? Did I say you were 12?!? As for why I'm posting it, if you'd seen the film you'd know exactly why! It's so similar to mgs in many ways and I find it hard to believe it wasn't a major influence to Hideo when making the MG series. The colonel guy is almost identical to the equivalent in MGS. Not only in appearance, but voice! So before you get all stroppy and take offence where none was intended. Think a little. Just because you don't care, doesn't mean others aren't interested. I didn't address the thread 'Message to _WARisRAW_' did I? This message was edited by Steve on Mar 30 2002.

These are all great comparisions, but don't you think they're a little shallow?
I mean, there would be better if the comparisions had some more depht than quote
