	what you missed was the wording "It has nothing to do with Assassin's Creed II, what's written on the wall has to do with the Assassin's Creed universe, not the second one." which means hey let it slip it has to do with the second game if its in the universe they created for this game perhaps we will get a mention of said writings through out the game

	You know how it never shows what Altiar did with the thing? I think he takes it and alters the world, passing it down through his family, and it belongs to Desmond now, probably not, but still, you'd never see it coming. 	Altair doesn't use the Chalice (I think that is what is was called), he hides it. That's why Dr. Vidic and the rest of the modern Templars kidnapped Desmond and attempted to uncover the location of the Chalice by scavenging through Desmond's latent memories of his ancestors using the Animus. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Desmond had it in some obscure form.
