Maybe it's an old topic, but I am always confused. Honestly speaking, there is more fun to play WE than FIFA. In my opinion, the camera angle, the control feeling and the fun about management of WE are all better than FIFA. Unfortunately, I love action game more, so I just bought a XBOX console and WE can only be played on PS2 and GC...

Some friends told me there are two fans alliance of football games: WE & FIFA. Usually the people in Asia are fond of playing WE while the people in Europe and America like FIFA.

But I do think WE is better than FIFA in overall. What's your opinion??

Hey, say sth. guys!!! I don't mean to evoke some debate, but I just want to exchange our feeling on these two typical football games.

I haven't played WE yet and I have a PS2, just haven't gotten around to it, don't really care to play it since I heard the players aren't really licensed or something so not the real players or something.

I just got Fifa 2003 new cheap for 39.99 Canadian so I can't really complain, I rented it before we bought it and thought it was alright, my dad likes soccer too.

I bet WE has more gameplay stuff or extra stuff like news paper clippings of how you're club is doing during the season, but I bet Fifa 2003 for Xbox has faster load times and probably better graphics.

Those are my guesses, I'm okay with happy with Fifa 2003 for Xbox I don't know if I could stand the down graded graphics of WE if they are since its on PS2 so I doubt I'll give it a chance. Plus the make belief players also kinda turn me off, but reviews and people have said it was a good game. I think WE scored a 10/10 at gamers.com.

I think if you have tried WE for several times, you'll never stop to explore new features of the game.(I was always doing that. Finding the best lineup for each team, the best way of dribble of different players...) And I think everytime I play this game, I always find sth. new.
Oh, why don't you buy a copy of WE, since you have a PS2 console?? Only by trying it yourself, you'll understand what I mean. You mentioned the price. I don't know the situation of your country, but I think at least it's not cheap, right?? In my country, China, we can easily buy a pirated disc. And it's amazingly cheap.
As to the graphic quality of the respective game, I had to admit that FIFA is always the best.(XBOX)

I'm not that into soccer anymore to warrant getting two soccer games in the same year. Yeah WE is still probably almust full price here I think so thats around 74.99, 69.99 Canadian.

I've seen WE at the rental place, so I could've rented it, but there are other games that interest more.

I mainly use my PS2 now for strategy games, PTO IV the only strategy game I own. I'm trying to stay away from buying PS2 games, because Xbox games often do look better, I can save on the HDD and my PS2 is starting to get a disk read error sometimes. I also like Xbox games better alot of time more appealing to me.

The only game console I have is XBOX and I bought XBOX because the type of its game is mainly act,avg. I don't quite like slg, or those alike ones. But in my dorm, my roommate has two PSs( PSone & PS2) the most frequently-played game is WE and we do get a lot of fun from it. And usually in China and other Asian countries, especially in Japan, WE series have a better public praise, while I had to exclaim for the better visual effect of FIFA.

I like the gameplay of WE better for sure, but i hate the fact that is has only a couple of teams from some of the major leagues and they are not officially liscensed so you dont get real team names and uniforms.
