I can't get the Auto-Life to work and I'm currently on level 80 for VI. Help please?

You have to pass through the gate that is linked to Auto-life before it'll work.

Okay, so I tried crossing over it once and twice and both times I died and well no auto-life.

I'm not sure if it triggers an auto-life for you or if it simply makes it available as a white magic spell for you.

I'm not sure if it will help with Chac either. I have a feeling that heavens cataract shatters petrified opponents removing them from the fight entirely. Best bet is to have a fast character or two on standby ready to administer as soft before the shattering occurs.

Auto-life is a spell you cast, not an auto-ability. You cast it on someone, then they die with it and are revived.

Chac's attacks on a charactor it has petrified w/stone gaze always shatter them, whether it's a normal attack or heaven's cataract. Furthermore, petrification removes buffs like auto-life anyway.
