 Topic: 100% in 2 playthroughs - Question

I was hoping someone could clarify this for me. Sorry if it's been discussed, but I didn't see it.
I'm in my first playthrough of the game in the middle of chapter 5 and have all the percentage points I'm supposed to. I do not want to raise more chocobos or do more than 20 levels of the Via Infinito. I'll go insane. So... Am I correct in believing I can finish this game with 97/98%, start my second playthough and side with New Yevon while visiting only hotspots, and get my 100% that way? And will doing that get me the perfect ending as well? Is there anything I absolutely must do the second time around (like whistling and talking to Maechen again withought interrupting him)? I would like to do the second playthrough with minimal effort so I can get through it quickly, but I'd really like to get the perfect ending along the way. Thanks | |

Yes, I've done those things. I have the strategy guide and am exactly where I'm supposed to be percentage-wise for the first playthrough. I just haven't gone to the Farplane, gotten the Mascot dressphere (obviously), and want to skip Chocobo raising and Via Infinto.
From what I have gathered, Via Infinito is 1% and raising Chocobo's is .2% or so. Therefore if I side with New Yevon in the second playthrough I should have enough for 100%. Just wondering if all of my speculating is correct. | |

About what I said about a playthrough with minimal effort being non-existant; Some events affect others therefore you may need to do stuff all over again. Also you might want to double check the Commsphere network more thoroughly in chapter four since you may have missed a scene that will net you points. ------------------- | |

No need to re-check the commsphere network. As I said, I have a guide and have done everything I needed to do. I finished the game at 99% skipping only the Trema battle.
Netting 100%+ will not be a problem on the seond playthrough, but I guess I'll find out the hard way which events I can skip or not. Thanks | |
