So, the original Red Steel was basically pure FPS with some swordplay arbitrarily thrown in. However, this game seems to be shaping up differently. This article talks about how the sword can be used at anytime, and the gun is used by pointing at the screen as pressing B.

At least to me, this style of gameplay lends itself to a more action/adventure style gameplay than your typical run and gun. Do you think a switch to this style of action game will benefit the series, or would you prefer a more classic FPS experience? I also wonder how multiplayer will play out if the game is like this, and if it will even need multiplayer.

it wont change a lot but, who nows, it could be a version of DMC, lol i truly would want some more action, not just gunning your enemies, and overall not having the gun out all the time, i would like that for most parts of the game you could do combos:

I start shooting some enemies from afar and with the other hand i cut the nearest ones to save ammo, altough the concept was present in the original still it wasnt implemented in an OK way

re: Genre

From what we've seen from the trailers it seems to be Action/Adventure, if anything the gun seems rather mediocre in combat.
