You have got to be joking |
|
Hiya.
This game is not out on the Xbox over here in England but i had the Ps2 version and unless there is some great differences in the xbox version then beware. Why are people talking about this game in the same breath as the original BG series. I have read that some people call this title an rpg. By no stretch of the imagination can this be called a rpg. This game is a hack and slash and can not be considered to be anything else. It quickly becomes very boring once you get past the great graphics and I got rid of my copy within a week. Wake up people this game is an insult to the great Baldur's Gate series. Please rent before you buy, don't put the word rpg and this game together. If you want a true rpg get Morrowind.

Thanks for the heads up like that. Maybe you could submit a user review to warn others too. Thanks.

I love this game, its like a diablo game for XBOX, I have beat it on every difficulty, it is really fun, and I also beat it on the PS2 version, but I still got it for XBOX.

Hiya,
Yeah it is a good game if you like the roaming around hack and slashing and it is like Diablo but what i want to point out is that it is not an rpg like some mags and reviews try to tell you. So if you where into rpg's and looking for a good one you would be disappointed and wasting your money on BGDA. Take care out there.

How can you think Morrowind is more of a RPG than BG. That game was so boring, the fighting stunk cause you couldnt bloack and you just try to hit the button as fast as you could to kill him. Morrowinds fighting has no strategy and you just hack and slash like BG. And you should of excpected that since basically every review said the fighting is like Diablo.

hi gumby,
Your right Morrowind could be very boring and there was more action and fighting in BGDA. Roleplaying is like that, a true roleplayer will let you do what you want wnen you want, let you go wherever you wish, create your own problems and solve them and responsiblity for your own actions and outcomes of them, just like real life. BGDA does not give you this freedom and is bacically a hack and slasher, a very good one but can not be named a RPG as some reviews have called it. This is the point I want to get over, some people will think they are buying a RPG but they are not. I like both games but I am still playing Morrowind after 3 months and will still be after 12 months because even after you achieve the main goal you can still carry on playing. BGDA lasted about 2 weeks and was traded in, enough said. Anyways each to their own.

I think this game is awesome. I just started playing it, and I am liking it. The graphics are great, the music is just as good as the original saga, and so are the spells.
It may not be as complicated, but it is still RPGish to me. I love it. ------------------- JET SET RADIO FUTURE---Revive the WHEEL OF TIME ![]()

To Wilki so untrue Baldurs Gate 4 Xbox is a game where you just jump in and kill stuff whereas Morrowind is a game that you take your time over. Both excellant games though

i dont see how many games cannot be called RPG's. Role playing..you play a roll as either an archer, dwarf or sorceres. You cannot say this is a bad game either, well you can but i dont think many will agree..they making a sequel for a reason, because the game is good.

Yeah, the game is good and i enjoyed playing it. But it is not a rpg, have you played any of the Baldur's Gate games on the pc?, they are true rpg's and you can see the difference is vast.
BGDA is hack and slash with a pinch of rpg and can not be compared to the originals. If it was not for the characters (Dwarf, Mage, Ranger) and weapons then you might as well call it 'Hunter the Recckoning'. I like the game, just don't call it an rpg.

well i sort of see why your saying this, the orig. are the best ones, but come on, lets just settle on it being a RPG/Dungeon fighter. I guess its sort of like Gauntlet legends

It is classed as an rpg for the fact that you have to complete quests to obtain important key items. it is not just a 'hack n slash game'!!!
