Lounge Mode |
|
OK, I set one of these up today for me and my flatmates so we can keep a record of all our games, have a league table etc. but I really don't understand how it works!
What are the lounge points all about? They don't seem to make any sense at all. After winning the first match I had the most lounge points, but then I lost the next game yet somehow doubled my lead in the standings gaining loads of lounge points... Didn't seem to make sense as I lost 4-2. Also, what's the deal with the badges? What do they do? Can you use them for stuff? I assume they're related to those unusual stipulations you can add before the match, like "assign 5 yellow cards at random to the opposition" I don't know what the badges even mean. What the hell does "I like boxes" mean? Most of the names are pretty vague. Yeah, so basically I need the whole thing explaining to me. Sorry if I'm being a bit thick! ------------------- ![]() Join the Football Forum online FIFA Club! (360)

To be completely honest - it's a terrible mode. We (my friends) just play quick matches, or make our own league (on create a tournament).
The badges have effects on the teams. Such as randomly assigning 5 yellow cards to the other team or giving yourself a 3 goal head start. It is meant to give you an advantage however both sides get to use these badges, so it just evens itself out really. Pretty pointless. You get points for doing certain things during the match - such as scoring from a free kick gives you more points, as does scoring from a corner, not conceding a foul, not being offside, not conceding a goal etc. And i can only assume that you got more points than him because you did certain things which give you more points. But tbh, i wouldn't bother with the mode. Was crap on Fifa 09 and from what i've seen of it, nothing has been added to it. Concluding: waste of time. ------------------- ![]() Natman4

Ah ok
Might just create a league then in create a tournament mode. That solves the points issue though. Thanks. Yeah in that game it was 4-3 actually and all my goals were awesome, 2 screamers! Will see how it goes, only 2 of us have played it so far. 5 will, and I'm sure some of the boys from the other flats will get involved. ------------------- ![]() Join the Football Forum online FIFA Club! The only reason I'll use the mode is for the achievement tbh. It is pretty crap.

Well if you want to play in a league with your mates there are a few advantages to it...
For example, in a normal league you have no control over which fixtures are played and when. In Lounge Mode you can pick who's playing against who, which is good if a few people can't play as often as the others can. A few of us could play 6 games, then someone else could be on 3. The stats and records that it keeps are pretty good aswell. You can view your head to head records against your friends. You don't have to use the badges (we don't) ------------------- ![]() Join the Football Forum online FIFA Club! (360)

Breaking the mold here. I've always been a bit of a fan of the Lounge. And given that 09 was the first FIFA with a Lounge that I've actually owned, the one we had running got a fair bit of usage.
The novelty of the cheapshots wore off after a while though (and was non-existent in fact for one participant), and we just did normal matches. However, some matches we did use the cheapshots, and they lead to some epic matches. For example, the desperation of defending a 3-0 lead while suffering a random team card, 2 men down, and 50% drain. 'Twas an amazing match, and in the end finished 3-3 with a goal in the last minute. -------------------
