Sotha Sil's Clockwork City Dome of Kasia |
|
BTW, the fabricant potions are supposed to fortify speed for 10 seconds, but they don't -- it's more like 2 seconds. Ditto the spell and Alamexia's power, which you can only use once a day. Meanwhile, I'm very VERY tired of restoring my game over and over and over again just to keep getting killed. And, if it matters, I'm almost at level 46.

I haven't looked at a minimum speed, but seems to me that thing moves pretty fast. I had the Boots of Blinding Speed on, so it was no problem for me as long as I didn't stop to look around.
You might try spells of Fortify Speed & Fortify Athletics - also it should be possible to make a fairly powerful Fortify Speed potion.

I was fast enough to just outrun the machine by the time I got there the first time. The second time I just used the levitation enchantment on my pants.

I've managed to get through the dome twice now, but it's incredibly difficult, and goes from being a game to being so exasperating you want to trash the whole thing.
I didn't have much luck with the Boots of Blinding Speed -- yes, they're fast, but you go BLIND when you wear them. I don't recall how I got past that revolving post the first time; the second time I went back to Morrowind and enchanted every item I was carrying to "Fortify Speed 100%" and that worked [the second character was a Khajit, so boots won't help. I've tried all the potions the fabricants drop when they die, and if they increase speed, I've used them, but they never helped me. Right now I've got an almost-level 70 Imperial character wandering around Mournhold and diving into sewers -- and this guy has every single gadget I could find, as well as various enchantments on what he's carrying, so I have hope for him. The first time around, I'll try the Boots of Sanguine Stalking and hope they help. If they don't, I've got a whole chest full of other possibilities, including the Boots of the Apostle. I won't use the unwearable Boots of Blinding Speed again. If you join the Morag Tong [or if you don't join, but go hunting for all the items you'd be sent for that have the word "Sanguine" in them -- if you've got the official guide, they'll be called the "Threads of the Webspinner" and are well mapped out for you to find. [Personally, getting all that stuff without joining the Morag Tong allows you to keep what you find; if you do join you'll get an option to give Hllalu the item or not, but I don't think the results would be terribly good if you decided to keep the item]. Joining does have its advantages, namely MONEY, which is really critical. Items you can find in the Daedric Quests are very helpful during the game [particularly the tanto Goldbrand], and if you get into the Corprusarium, do what the last existing dwarf needs to do so you'll be able to go back to Divath Fyr and get cured, then steal the book that's in front of the dwarf. That book lists almost all of the really important items you might want to have before you leave Morrowind. If you read the "Tel Fyr" description under "Wizard Lairs" -- pp 240-241 of the gameplay book -- you'll find you can get your hands on a Daedric Crescent, which I didn't even know existed until I was on character number ????? as I keep playing the game using different races and skills. Being a thief helps you, too; being able to steal things with everybody else looking on but not noticing you is really fun -- not to mention what you can steal -- I've stolen every book in the game -- yep, I've robbed both bookstores in the Foreign Quarter, stolen everything in the Hall of Wisdom's library, and decimated the Homalayan library too [none of this has to do with beating the gadget in the dome, but getting hold of anything that can POSSIBLY help you is worth it -- and your levels will go up and up and up -- just keep cosades waiting -- he never notices, and you keep the game from going into overdrive once you're declared Nevarine. Someone on this thread said they used levitation potions or items -- I don't know how that can be possible; you can't levitate in Mournhold and you can't levitate in Clockwork City, either. Trust me, I've TRIED.
