Out of all of the weapons (including the Opfor ones such as the AK), which one do you think is the best overall?

The best weapon is obviously the M249 SAW, but my personal favorite is ths M4A1.

I actually prefer the Opfor equivalent of the SAW (the RPK or something?), because the actual bullets are slightly more powerful, though this does mean more recoil.
Another favourite of mine is the AK with the grenade launcher, as I think that grenade launcher is better than the M16 equivalent, plus you get a fully automatic weapon with it as well.

U.S Weapons
-M16: The Standard assault rifle in use within the US Army, these are the guns which you get if you choose a -=R=- Slot. Burst and single fire modes available.

-M16/m203: Same as above, with the added bonus of a grenade launcher.

-M24 SWS Sniper Rifle: The US Armys most reliable and consistent sniper rifle, with its 24x Scope and bipod, the M24 is feared Among OP-FOR everywhere. As the saying goes, "you can run but you cannot hide..." Slow rate of fire due to the bolt action nature of the weapon, also slow reload times.

-M82A1 Sniper Rifle: This is perhaps, the most lethal weapon on the battlefield. It comes with a bipod for extra stability. The M82 has a very high rate of fire and a fast reload time but the recoil makes it impossible to stay zoomed in after a shot. Clip fed for fast reload

-M249 SAW: The standard issue heavy machine gun, belt fed with 200 rounds the saw is a formidable weapon. Comes with Bipod and is fully automatic

-M4A1 Carbine (SF SOPMOD): Basicly a normal M16 with automatic fire mode. Can be customised with Bipods, M203's, Supressors and Sights. *Note*To use this gun on an SF Map, users MUST have completed their SF training.

-SPR: The SPR is a strange weapon, it has the rate of fire of a M82, the zoom of a M24 and you do not get recoil, it also comes with a supressor. Reload times are fast and a bipod gives the player stability, Great Weapon if you like sniping.

-AT4: The AT4 is a single shot, light rocket launcher. It is disposible meaning that after firing soldiers can throw away the weapon so not to weigh them down. The AT4 is very accurate from a crouching position and while looking down the sights.

-M9 Pistol: The M9 Pistol. Standard Issue with snipers all over the world. Press <P> to holster/unholster the M9 **NOTE** You MUST be a Sniper to use this weapon. It cannot be dropped. Reasonable rate of fire, usually the last resort.

Op-For (Opposing Forces) Weapons
-AK47: The Opfor version of the M16, with automatic fire.

-AK47/M203 (AkA GP30): Opfor version of the US Made M16/M203, Fully Automatic.

-Mosin Nagant Sniper Rifle: "The old Mosin" as it is sometimes lovingly reffered to, is the Opfor equivelent of the US m24, it has a bolt action system with a slow rate of fire, but watch out, its just as deadly.

-Dragunov SVD: The Opfor M82, High rate of fire and fast reload. Recoil is substantial.

-RPK: The Opfors version of the US SAW, slighty smaller and cylinder fed as apposed to belt. Less rounds (100 less) but many think this gun is perhaps better than its US counterpart. Bipod comes as standard.

-AKS-74U (Moddable): The arab version of the M4 SOPMOD, Fully customisable just like the M4.

-RPG: (Rocket Propelled Grenade) This weapon is deadly at long range, it is easily aimed and fired, reload times are very slow so make sure to take cover after firing (when selecting this gun you also get a AK47 as your sidearm)

Grenades, Flashbangs and smokes

-M67 Frag Grenade: The standard issue US Grenade. Probably the most effective weapon on Americas Army when used to maximum effect. When you pull the Pin, press right mosue button to "cook" the grenade, this sets off the charge and starts the detonation sequence. Hold the nade for however long you want and throw (always jump and throw to get them far distances)
*"Nade" - If you hear people asking you to "nade" right back, they mean use a grenade.

-Flashbang: The M84 grenade is designed to be thrown into a room (through an open door, a standard glass window, or other opening) where it delivers a loud noise and bright flash on detonation. Blinding the enemy.

-M83 Smoke Grenade: The M83 produces a cloud of white smoke for 25 to 70 seconds.

The M203 By far

Mine is M4A1 with M203 modification. I also like the M24.

I like the M9 only because you can run fastest with the M9.

for distaince i prefer the M16 and for close combat the M4

The AK47/M203 combo. The missiles fire exactly the same as the M4 missiles, but the gun has full-auto capabilities.

ak47/203 combo, sniper rifle, and the regular ak-47. The other machine gun is harder to use.

I like the opfor Special Forces rifle (AKS-74U) with all the mods AND the SVD.

Damn that is awsome i think we should make a mod thread and how to mod weapons in AA? Since not many people know how to do it.

You just go into your profile in the actual game not on the site. It's not hard. But yeah it is sweet.

Agreed. The single shot is great for long range and I often find myself using it in quick clicks to get a few well aimed shots off. Defintely more accurate than the burst mode.
M4 is pretty solid, but I find it to be not as accurate as the m16 and I use it only in SF maps anyway. I have to get closer to targets I find though.

Yep the more bare bones the gun is, the more accurate it is. Except if your going to say without a scope a sniper isn't really accurate but thats not really what I'm saying.
