You knew this was coming.
I don't even need to say anything. Now I know the team for this had nout to do with Prime.....but come on. Unless Retro were just trollin' us, I'd say its pretty damn likey Sylux will make an appearance here. ------------------- "Its called a miracle because it doesn't happen" ![]() And then there were none.

Much as I'd like to see Sylux appear, specifically to get some history on him, you can't take Prime 3's 100% ending as proof he'll be in this game for two reasons. One, Retro isn't making this one, and two, at least two Metroid games take place in between Prime 3 and Other M, which would be an abnormally long time for him to have been following her without making a move.

quote Zen_The_zanI know that, however it still happened. If they want to keep the fans happy it would be best to carry on from it no? quote Zen_The_zanMaybe its a patient fellow. ------------------- "Its called a miracle because it doesn't happen" ![]() And then there were none.

quote KanonExcept they don't need to carry on from it to keep people happy. As awesome as the Prime games were, a lot of people are ready for something new, including a new storyline that doesn't continue from them, that's why they're placing it between Super and Fusion, timeline wise. And on top of that, there isn't really anything to carry on from, because nothing really happened. It's not like with Prime 2 when we saw Dark Samus reform and instantly knew she'd be back with some crazy huge phazon scheme. And the people making Other M, despite including the co-creator of Metroid among their staff, didn't really have much of anything at all to do with the Prime trilogy story, so probably wouldn't even know how to continue it anyway. Again, not that I wouldn't like to see it, I just honestly believe there's little to no chance at all of it happening. ------------------- quote ![]()

You gotta remember that Sylux really has nothing to do with Prime anyway, its ship just showed up at the end. Hunters is Prime in name alone, No Phazon, No MP/DS.

quote KanonYes, but they still get lumped into the same category all the time. The people working on Other M still had no real involvement in them and it still takes place at a point in time that people would rather not see more games take place in at the present moment. Though you never know, I do suspect we MIGHT get to see Sylux's origins in Other M, even if we don't see the result of his pursuit of Samus at the end of Prime 3. ------------------- quote ![]()

re: Sylux |
quote KanonYep. He suddenly makes an appearance following Samus at the end of Corruption, then instead of striking at her whilst she's weakened from her clash with Dark Samus he waits for a huge period of time (Between Prime 3 and Other M it's easily been several months at least, perhaps even a year or longer) and then randomly decides to make an appearance? If Sylux is going to return I doubt it'll be now.

Sylux is an 'It' until proven otherwise. Wouldn't it be great if Metroid decided to pull this twice?
quote Ech0ezSimple, it doesn't want to *bleep* with 255 Missles and 12 energy tanks, among other things. I wouldn't. It knows they'll disappear sooner or later, it didn't go to SR388 cause it cant fight the Metroid's, and Super happened pretty quickly after. Or maybe they just had a little skirmish we never see(Flashback in Other M maybe?) in which it retracted. ------------------- "Its called a miracle because it doesn't happen" ![]() And then there were none.

I was going to cite the MPH instruction manual and then it occured to me that the original Metroid has me there as well... foiled >_<
OR, Sylux simply doesn't appear in Other M, and we later get a game that takes place inebwteen MP3 and MII that shows them fight. Oh and if we're going on technicallities, that ship at the end of MP3 isn't proven to be the Delano 7.

re: Sylux |

No, it isn't proven to be, but there are more similarities between that ship and the Delano 7 then any other ship we've seen up til this point. And the thing about showing off mysterious figures (like a ship coming out of nowhere to stalk Samus), is that if we haven't met the person before, then there's no point in making them mysterious. If it's someone new, they could just come out and tell us exactly who it was and accomplish the same thing, which would imply it's someone we've met before. And the Delano 7 (maybe 8?) is the most likely candidate at the present moment.

re: Sylux |

The ship is, iirc, a stolen prototype, so I'd hazard a guess it's not even supposed to be out in space during MPH/MP3, also its unliky any other ship would look like it.
Unless the Delano 7 are mass produced by then, but then only Feds should have them, and why would a fed be stalking Sammy at this time? Its not proven, true, but damn is it likely. ------------------- "Its called a miracle because it doesn't happen" ![]() And then there were none.

re: Sylux |

I think it's also possible that the 100% ending of MP3 simply shows that there's someone following Samus, and it turns out to be someone other than Sylux (probably a new character if that's the case).
Or if the Delano 7 is mass produced by then, Sylux may have just stolen one of those for whatever reason.
