It doesn't necessarily need to be harder IMO, I just want more exploration and less gravity switching. At least this is a step in the right direction though.

I thought the difficulty level for the first game was just right. I think, playing a Mario game, you should always feel like you can complete the objective, but that it may take several times to do. The decision to include enough 1-Ups so that you didn't have to continue and start a level from the very beginning again after beating it made the game accessible. For the gamers wanting a challenge, you could go after every single star in the game and then play through again as Luigi. If this is what Miyamoto is talking about, but adding harder bonus stars rather than difficult ones as a part of the main game, I'm all for it.

That's good. I felt as if the first one went by too fast and there wasn't as much challenge in it as there was in Super Mario 64.

I'm all for a harder game, but glxy 1 got pretty challenging at points if you were trying for all the stars. I'd like to see a Mario game have something like an insane mode unlocked afterwards. Make the narrow pathways more narrow, make enemies cause more damage. That's what I would like.
