Hard Controls...

Does anyone else notice how difficult the controls are? I feel like I'm playing on hard when I'm on normal mode. I actually prefer burst limit to what I'm playing now...

re: Hard Controls...

Are they really that much different from BT3?

re: Hard Controls...

I don't know... it feels more like tekken or something. Sometimes I'm just pressing a bunch of buttons, hoping I do the right thing. Half the time it tells you to do something (like crash) but when you press the button does not do it. I definitely prefer burst limit controls.

re: Hard Controls...

No offense, but it just sounds to me that you haven't even bothered to learn the controls in order to be good. People who do don't just push a lot of buttons and try to get lucky, they learn how the game plays through tutorial modes and practice. And things like crash require perfect timing, which is a game of precision. Not all games play the same, and just because you are having problems with this games controls is not really a valid reason to say BL is better.

Give it time to get used to it. Judging from your response, I assume you didn't play BT3, what about the other past BT series'?

re: Hard Controls...

Hopefully mine comes tomorrow im in the UK (but i pre-ordered) Judging by the demo it is slightly different, but im guessing if you do the training mode you will get used to the controls. Thats what i plan to do anyway.

re: Hard Controls...

I played the hell out of the tenkaichi games, I don't remeber struggling this much with the controls. Granted, it's been awhile since I've played these games with a normal controller, (BT3 on the Wii ftw). The real problem I have is not being to read the combinations in the pause menu. I'm sure if I played the tutorial in the actual game I'd get the swing of it.

But judging from the demo, this game just feels harder in general. And the weird camera doesn't help either. I don't remember that being a problem before.

re: Hard Controls...

Ok i got the game today and i understand what the author of this thread was saying. The button layout is quiet difficult to get used to. THe controls are different to the tenkaichi series and just don't feel normal. Also blocking has been made difficult due to this. There are different ways to block, but they all incorporate R1 which in my eyes is very awkward for a block function.

re: Hard Controls...

i agree r1 is one bastard button to have for a block button but i do think the controller layout is innovative and a lot more creative compared to most fighting games ive played. coming from a soul caliber background i found once i had gotten used to the controls the game gives you a lot to think about in how you can piece together combos etc.

re: Hard Controls...

What is wrong with the controls? There different and fun just because there different doesn't make them any worse then the last games. I felt pretty smooth when I started to get the controls down.
