CCE Discussion, Ideas and Sharing |
|
Hello people!
Welcome to the Challenges, Competitions and Experiments Forum. In this thread, you'll have the opportunity to discuss your ideas about challenges, competitions and experiments. For example, if you eagerly want to start a plain offline competition but have trouble making the database, you can ask in this thread. For example, if you want to do an experiment but are stuck on how to let certain parts take shape, you can ask in here. For example, if you're stuck about the point system of your newly created challenge, you can ask advice in here. This thread is just a start, and perhaps we're going to have to modify it after a while, but for now, this will probably do. First question: I was thinking that it would be useful to have guides for both how to set up competitions, and about how to set up proper challenges. Would there be any takers for that? ------------------- Kick the can, kick the can, skip and blackjack Steal a car and ring a round-rosey Rock and roll, candyland, boogeyman Run away and give me your sneakers

Yeah, you could just re-create it if the member isn't online regularly enough to update it.

Would any of you participate in a challenge called: The 'You sell before you sign' challenge. Basically, it's pretty straight forward. You can only sign a player if you sell a player first.
The rules are:
Theres a basic outline, but if it's shown interest I will think about it more and start it soon. Any takers? -------------------

^ That could also be named the 'Everton' challenge
I've had an idea for a while now, and it's something I'm currently attempting on the game. The basics are to win the Champions League trophy in 5 different continents. I'll give it a nice write up and post it up at some point. ------------------- *Insert Sig Here*

Okay so I've started an experiment on FM that hopefully will fit in to this forum quite nicely
It's one I attempted about 5 months ago but never got around to completing it and deleted the database so I couldn't continue the thread. Basically I used the bottom 10 ranked FIFA Nations and put a -10, 14 year old in a team in that nation. I'll be checking their progress and updating every year on how they do and where they go. It's just to see if nations have an impact on making it on the game. -------------------

Right, my idea for a experiment. I'm going to take some of the world's top managers, and see if they can cope in the quagmire that is Asia
I was thinking of putting them in China, South Korea and Australia, in their lowest league possible, and see if a great manager is all that you need to succeed in this game. ------------------- ![]()

Thats seems like a very interesting idea walnuts also DanT i think that would work very well.
Im going to post up my Offline World Cup Competion later tonight, but once that is done i was thinking of starting a experiment where i create a club for the bottom ten nations in the world with the best youth facilities, training facilities and coaches to see how long it would take them to get some decent players and become a force in world football. ------------------- ![]() A lot of people like snow. I was thinking of doing something like DanT, by that I mean creating a player(s), and charting their progress, only thing is I do not know exactly what to do with him/them.
So basically, I am asking you all, what would you like to see me do?? Also asking this will make sure I get some good followers and comments.

For anyone looking for ideas i suggest going to the official SI Forums as they have a batch of challenge, experiments ect going on over there. One thing i am thinking of doing is replacing all teams in England with the Champions League teams for the past season to see who would come out on top. Obviously the 32 group teams would have to be split. The top 20 ranked go into the Premiership with the other 12 in the Championship. Then the 16 teams who failed in the third qualifying round join them with the least ranked 4 going into League One. They'll be joined by the 14 who failed in the second qualifying stage. With the top 6 from the first qualifying round failures joining them.
I'm not certain it'll be the English league that is used, i may possible alter it to the Scottish league and eradicate the First qualifying round. Thoughts are welcome. That was one idea; Another idea i had was to put the winners of the top 20 ranked leagues, according to the Elo rankings, in the Premiership. The 20 runners-up in the Championship with the 4 league winners from the leagues ranked 21-24. Then the third place team in League One with the second placed team from Leagues ranked 21-24 etc straight down to the BSN/BSS. The challenge would be to see who manages to perform and who really is the world champion. Or, i could just be un-original and chart some players progress. ------------------- ![]()

Okay little update on the above. I've dropped both of the ideas for various reasons and i'm thinking of something else entirely different now. I've dropped the first one as i'm not sure that there would enough teams to implement into any league structure and the second one would involve some editing. So i've scrapped them.
Two other ideas that i've come up with could be to buy players from a lower nation, say Panama or Finland at a big Premiership club and loan them out in the hope they improve and also improve the nations hopes. Another idea i had was to load the English leagues from Premiership - League One and holiday for around 100 years charting each years victors and any new players. I'm not sure what one i'd prefer though. Thought's welcome? ------------------- ![]()

I think the 100 years idea sounds pretty good
