re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

As i am more familiar with scottish football, can i load scotland too, or would that ruin the challenge ?

Also, how long does it usually take to get your 1st club ?

It's usually pretty quick getting your first club. It's making a name for yourself that takes ages!

I think a couple of people have.

I'm in 2012 and pushing for promotion in league 1 with Notts Forest.

re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

The season has started and i still haven't found a club

Edit- I just realised i hadn't loaded all the leagues from the countries, thats why there was no non-league jobs

I need to start again.

Yeah your gonna be looking at Blue Square N/S for your first job realistically. Looking through the threads, it looks like most people start with Braintree Town.

re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

Doing pretty well with being unemployed at the start. I'm just starting my fourth season.
Started off at Dorchester and won promotion to BSP first season. Also won FA Trophy. Leicester approached me in the second season, but with there disastrous start to the game I managed to finish 12 in League 1. Third season, I managed to finish top and gave them a taste of the Championship. Fourth, Ivory Coast approached me for the job so now I'm a world cup team manager and in championship and only 34. If Robson quit at 79. I've got abit to goo.

re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

Right, so with Droylsden I've finished pre-season..heres my results:

Droylsden 3-5 Man City
Rhyl 0-2 Droylsden
Droylsden 1-0 Aston Villa Res.
Droylsden 2-2 Middlesborough Res.
Droylsden 1-0 Lincoln
Eastbourne 1-2 Droylsden
Braintree 1-2 Droylsden
Boston 0-4 Droylsden

Pretty nice pre season there. In the City match I was 3-0 down at half time, made 10 subs and my second half team did better than my first half!

Also, I've made about 7 signings, just to strengthen the squad for the BSP..
  • Jason Morrison - free from Sheff Utd
  • Matthew Clarke - released by Bradford
  • Adam Mcgurk - released by Aston Villa
  • Emmanuelle Smith - released by Walsall
  • Paul Terry - released by Leyton Orient
  • Jude Stirling - released by MK Dons
  • Marcus Bignot - released by Millwall
And I have got rid of about ten players, for a total fee of £5,000 (all of which was from the sale of Leigh Mills )

First game is Dagenham & Redbridge at home, followed by Woking away.

Wish me luck.

re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

I'm in my 5th season, currently Notts Forest, and i'm 2nd in League 1 but quite a way to go yet! Not got a bad managerial record though.

08/09 Braintree - finished 5th (Blue Sqaure South)
09/10 Braintree - finsihed 1st (Blue Square South)
10/11 Braintree - fighting for playoffs when left near the end of the season (Blue Square Prem)
Grimsby - finished 21st (League 2)
11/12 Grimsby - finished 3rd (League 2)
12/13 Notts Forest - currently 2nd

re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

First game in BSP. I went 1-0 down in the 13th minute, ABlancourt got injured in the 20th. In the 38th minute, Munk equalised. He scored again in the 65th minute, but an 86th minute goal from Dag & Red finished the match.

I could have won, but not a bad result against the promotion favourites

re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

I just started this challenge. Got the job at Dorchester.

I'm sitting in second in the league behind AFC Wimbledon.
I knocked them out of the conference league cup after going 2 nil down.

re: Unemployment Challenge [V]

Played 4 league games so far..

Droylsden 2-2 Dag & Red
Woking 1 - 2 Droylsden (90th minute winner )
Droylsden 0 - 0 Cambridge
Rushden 0 - 2 Droylsden

Sit 4th in league. Early days but not a bad start
