As usual I've started as Farsley. I've limited my signings to only people that are reletively essential and it hasn't worked too well. In my 4 pre-season matches I've drew 2 and lost 2, with the only opposition stronger than me being Leeds. My top 3 signings are Pascal Bedrossian, Pierre Alexandre Galuppo and Matty Edwards on loan or Dale Tonge.

I'm at the end of January now with Droylsden, 2nd season, in the BSP. I've just beat Burton (who were 2nd atm) away to make my lead up to 8 points, plus a game in hand! Good times!

re: Unemployment Challenge [V] |

I started this challenge a few days ago and all is going ok. I got Farsley Celtic in the Blue Square North. It was an extremely exciting transfer window in pre season with no fewer than 14 players arriving and 15 departing. All worked well though and nine months later me and my squad all had a BSN winners medal to put in our cabinets. The cup competitions didn't go well but this suited fine as we ran away with the league eventually finishing 8 points clear of 2nd.
Second season was a similar story really. Mid table sucess was the priority and was achieved comfortably with a 14th placed finish. This is misleading though as up until Febuary we were comfortably fighting two or three other clubs for a spot in the play offs. A bad run dropped us down the league but our early form was easily enough to give us a second crack in my third season at the club. The third season is now twelve games old and not going too badly. After a summer in which i didn't feel the need to bring in lots of new faces only 5 arrived with many more shown the exit door at Farsley. We sit in 12th position so far and have faced probably the top 5 teams in the league already.

I'll post my progress up tonight I reckon.
16 games to go in the League and I'm 11 points ahead :> Also, I'm in the final of the Conference League Cup, where Ebbsfleet stand in the way of me reclaiming it for another year And I'm in the FA Trophy Quarter Finals, where I face Burton. The treble is on... (again!) -------------------

I've started this again after finding out that there are some great players in the French lower leagues who'll join the BSN and after 3 matches 4 matches I'm 2nd and am unbeaten. I've beat Hucknall 2-0, Solihull 3-0 and Alfreton 3-2. I've also drawn to Gateshead 1-1.

URGENT ANSWERS PLEASE GUYS!!!
As you know, I'm Droylsden, second season, and top of the BSP. With Droylsden, I won a treble last year, and am on course for another treble this year (Conference League Cup final and FA Trophy semi final) Heres what you need to know..: But I've just got this offer... Wycombe are only in League Two, which is the League I will be in next year with Droylsden..heres their League table.. And here is there team that are struggling... So...the question is.. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I don't want to leave Droylsden, but I don't think I could take them further than League One. Do you think I should keep going with Droylsden and hold out for a better offer, or jump ship now? -------------------

What are yours and theirs finances like? I had pretty much the same decision as this with Braintree and Grimsby. I knew it would be a struggle to get midtable with Braintree, whereas I thought I could do alot with Grimsby. Ended up getting promoted.
If they are offering you a decent sized budget, i'd move to them. ------------------- ![]() Lockerz- Earn free stuff! PM me for an invite!

My balance with Droylsden is currently at £220K (in the black
Wycombe have offered me a wage budget which is £21.5K a week. I've come off the game now, but I'll decide what to do soon. I may agree to join Wycombe at the end of the year, so I can win the treble with Droylsden again Tough..tough decision -------------------

If i was you i would take it!! Ive found it really really hard in league 2 with the small budgets you get with a prommoted team. But what i do is save the game and then accept the offer and do a new save as, so then you av always got ur old game 2 go back 2 if u feel u made a mistake in moving!
Ive just completed my season with Colchester and finished up 15th! Not bad for saying i was 22nd when i took over! Just starting pre season and made some good free signings but only got a budget of 85grand so not much 2 spend but have a really good wage budget which has help me in attracting some good players! ------------------- Currently managing: Man Utd 2011-2012 Colchester Utd 2013-2014

I've been doing this challenge the last week or so;
I started unemployed and then Hyde Utd offered me a job so I took them over. I had a mixed season, stuck around mid-table and then at the end I had a late run and finished 7th, just outside the playoffs. Quite happy with that. Second season I've totally revamped the squad, managed to get Jamie Day from P'Boro and got experience with N'Gotty and Furlong. Started off ok so far, but I'm pretty inconsistent, I want to get promoted this year, gotta get out of the BSN! -------------------

re: Unemployment Challenge [V] |

After buying 20 players and releasing 18 and selling 1 I am in a sort of debt. I have 3k to spend and am top of BSN by 3 points in mid-November. The players I have bought look like a few could do the business well in League 2 so I am happy with my signings. I was knocked out of the CLC 1st round by Droylsden on penalties, drawing 1-1 through the match and losing 6-5 on pens. I have just been knocked out the FA Cup aswell, losing 3-1 to Accrington in the 1st round, but I am still unbeaten in the league.

I delayed the Wycombe offer until the end of the season, as I can get another treble with Droylsden at the moment, and I want to see that through. Also, if Wycombe go down to the BSP and I'm in League Two I will probably reject Wycombe
I want to get 100+ points again this year.. About to play the Conference League Cup final away to Ebbsfleet. Would much rather be at home, but I should win anyway -------------------

re: Unemployment Challenge [V] |

Yeah thats probably the smart thing to do.
I'm just about to start my second season as Notts Forrest manager (2014/15). Finished mid table last year, but with me just over the wage budget, and only 1k to spend, I can't see me improving much. I'e also left Albania after Ghana offered me the job. I've always wanted to have Essien in my team but never got to. I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets on. ------------------- ![]() Lockerz- Earn free stuff! PM me for an invite!
