The key to beating anyone in the game is to level up. Just go to the item world or the first level of Celestia and do some power leveling. Go back and he'll be a breeze.

Wow, after not playing for a few months I just put an hour or so into farming Armsmasters in Item World to help people raise their sword levels. The difference was incredible, they went from 1 sword level per 9 enemies, to 1.5 or so per each individual enemy. This saves quite a bunch of time, I wish I had done it sooner.
Prior to this I hadn't done much with the Item World except to get my 3oo Statisticians. I also upgraded a few weapons and found 3 rare Cosmic Blades which I am consequently working on upgrading, and farming all the Gladiators, Statisticians and Armsmasters I can find. Does anyone know what the different specialists cap out at? I thought I was almost done with this game, aside from beating Uber Prinny Baal, but obviously I have more work to do. ------------------- FFXI: Bahamut Server: Witchking MH: Witchking HR2o, HR2o, HR 4

I made a few notes on specialists this afternoon, actually. Off the top of my head, I think that statisticians, managers and brokers max out at 300, while most stat maxers can go to 19998. Not sure about firefighters and other preventitive ones. I just started a new game. Haven't even gone beyond Midbosses gate, just been playing around in the item world. I'm making an amulet with 300 statisticians, brokers and managers, and getting some teachers for my cleric and a few armsmasters, since they're generally handy. Plus whatever other random specialists happen to be on the items I'm going through.

Huzzah!
If you want to discuss it or have any questions, feel free to ask. As a general tip, don't be afraid of the item world. It looks scary at first, but it's really not that tough if you're careful. ![]() -------------------

Man, this forum seems to get people in waves at a time. For a month or so It'll be inactive than bam! A few more people find Disgaea and the boards start moving some more.

Yeah ^_^
Most Nippon Ichi forums don't have very much activity, especially if they game has been out for some time (say 6 months)...There are usually a few dedicated posters, but if nobody else is posting, what can they do? -------------------

Very true.
Funny thing is, I think the neoseeker NIS boards have more activity than the NIS America's forums! (They are really dead, I checked them out a while ago.) But I guess that is also the nature of the game; NIS has limited copies of a game sent out and it is mostly a first come first serve basis. (Certainly in NA and EU) Which makes the newcomer flow quite stunted. ------------------- ![]()

I still see plenty of D2 and La Pucelle games though ^_^;;
And yeah, any forums for a specific developer, particularly a niche one like NIS, would likely be less then active, as its too limiting to focus specificly on said developer...however, if they have a ton of forums for other games and misc stuff (say, neoseeker), they generally do better... -------------------

I really should stop dragging my characters into items that are too strong for them.
Thing is, when it works, they end up much stronger, with more powerful items. ![]() -------------------

I have not started to get involved with the item world yet- I do not have strong enough weapons.
When is a good level to start going into items - or when do these very rare and powerful items become available? Right now I just have the basic stuff I buy at the store - or a few things I stole from enemies. Characters are low level - at the moment - Got Laharl to 65 last night - and most of my others to 50.

I usually level Laharl, Etna and the prinnies up to level five on the first battlefeild, then go play with the item world. I wouldn't advise it for beginners, though.

Yeah, If its a person's first time (or otherwise pretty new to the item world), I wouldn't recommend it right away.
BTW: Each item states, at the bottom, when you select the item "to enter" (In the item world menu, the mage gives you), a Rough starting level for the enemies...most crap items start at below the double digits, but the more expensive the item, which includes rare and legendary items, the higher the level of the starting enemies (So, a rare, or legendary version of the item would be higher level starting enemies, than the regular version of the item). If your main attackers are, say, averaging around level 50, start around level 30 enemies, at most...the 'boss' on the 10th floor, will probably be about all you can handle...you'd probably need two attackers to take em down, unless you have danged good items. So don't continue past the 10th floor Thats another thing...Don't go into an item world, unless your equipped items/weapons are good, for your level...It also gives you an edge in battle. -------------------
