re: Disgaea General Discussion 2 |

Thanks talteen - here are some follow up questions.
I went to the item world last night just to see how it works etc. I bought 4 low level belts and went inside each one and subdued the specialists. I got a nice amount of Gladiators. I then bought the most expensive belt at the store so I could see how to add gladiators to it. I added 3 and then it could not add any more. At this point do I combine the specialists? It says when you do that it goes back to the original stats - so how does combining benefit? Does it make it stronger when you add more gladiators in this case? I think you have a good idea and that is to get a weapon/armor and load it up with statiticians to level up faster. When I look at Laharl he has 2 items (weapon and piece of armor) with statisticians on it. It says 34 and 42 on the other. What are those numbers? What is your suggestion and a good way to load an item with statistician's so I can level up faster? Also what does defeating the item general do on each 10th floor? Thanks!

Specialists come in different levels; those level effect their strength, and how much they add to your weapon. That's what the 34 and 42 are. They do not reflect what level the specialists will be on the battle field when you subdue them, I'm just saying levels because I don't have a better word.
When they are unsubdued, those numbers are halfway what they should be. When you combine a subdued specialist with an unsubdued specialist they become as one, and both are subdued. Here's an example; Say you have two unsubdued Gladiators on a weapon, both level 12. You subdue one, and he becomes level 24. If you combine them at this point, he will become unsubdued again, and revert back to 12, leaving you with one specialist with a level of 24. If you subdue this specialist, he will become level 48. If you subdue both specialists, they will both become level 24, and, when combined, will be 48 again. The point of combining is because items have a limited population; a combined specialist is more power, and less space. However, when you're battling your way through an item, it's not the specialists levels which matter - it's how many of them there are. So I'd avoid subduing them, since you may later want to transfer them to a legendary weapon, and you'll need up to sixteen for the maximum bonus. Just another note on those numbers; with gladiators, each level reflects one point of power which they add to your strength stat. With statisticians, each number is 1% extra experience you will gain if you are wearing a weapon or armour with them on it in battle. Statisticians will have no further effect after 300, although you can combine more. ![]() -------------------

OK cool -
Yeah I was going to put all the gladiators I subdued into a legendary item - I was just testing it out and figuring it all out. I want to do the statisticians one so I can level faster with my characters - right now I want to get them to 150 so I can do the Cave of Ordeals level to further level them up. Thanks for the help.

I forgot - what does killing the Item general on the 10th floor do/accomplish?

It will give the item a permanent boost from the specialists who are on it. The Item Boss/King (can't recall which) on the 30th, 60th and 90th floors will, in addition to this, add another population space to your item.

Nice!
I don't' know if I could hit the 30th floor - maybe on a low level item - will be fun to try. If I use a Mr. Gency exit can I leave the item and come back to the floor I was on? Is there a way to lift the guys on the portal? That really affects me advancing through the item world. Thanks!

Yes, you can use a Mr. Gency's exit to leave and come back to the same floor.
No, you can't lift them, but some attacks can knock them off. Fist skills tend to be good for this. What I normally do is use all my human characters to pick up my strongest character from the base panel, and then throw him right next to the exit. He can kill the gatekeeper, then walk onto the panel, taking me to the next floor in one turn. If this character has a fist weapon, he doesn't need to kill the gatekeeper, just knock him off the panel. ![]() -------------------

Well, it looks like Deis answered all your questions?
So yeah, I wouldn't combined subdued and unsubdued specialists... BTW: Look for high level hands (stealing hands), for staticians...one almost always has either a Statician, Armaster, or another one (Which I dunno what it does)...If you find a regular good weapon/armor that has a statician, level it up, if you can...I found one item that had like, two level 20's, I beat em both, and had a combined level 80 statician ^_^ BTW: Armasters level up weapons faster (good for those with low weapon mastery, like Thiefs, their best is guns, but it is still kinda crappy)... Well, looks like Two Worlds has been delayed for a day or two, so I'll be playing Disgaea some more, till I get it -_- BTW: When I said 'about 1/4' of the enemies HP in the CoO3, I mean ALL of them (I was doing combos to hit several enemies at once, over and over again...if I had fought a single enemy at a time, I would probably have killed at least a few) -------------------

re: Disgaea General Discussion 2 |

Well, I've finally beaten CoO3.
And believe it or not, I can do it with EVERY SINGLE ATTACKER SURVIVING. I spent roughly 8+ million more on weapons (One Excalibur, and one powerful staff), and I then went through Excalibur's item world, for the first ten levels. And I tell you, I barely survived beating the 10th level...In the end, it was me, a weakened laharl, and a female samurai left over, and we had to fight a space monster that was like 40+ levels above them, and their Defence is killer...But because it could only move 2 spots at a time, and it ran out of SP, I was able to kill it...Heck, laharl couldn't even damage it...but in the end, Victory goes to me...What pissed me off though, was right before I would have killed him, a 20% damage panel did it for me, so I didn't get ANY EXP from that guy -_- (BTW: Killed the item god in two turns, easy) I gave the boosted Exalibur to Laharl (combined with Staticians and stuff), and his former slightly stronger sword to my female samurai. and comboed CoO3 ^_^ -------------------

Very cool talteen!
I thought CoO3 was one of the best leveling spots? I am trying to get my characters to 150 so I can start leveling there. I did not realize it was so difficult of a board. Went to the item world last night and got one of my amulet pieces up to 240 statistician. Tonight will get it up to 300 then start leveling again. When leveling up armsmaster how many points is good to have on the amulet? For example statistician is 300 - what would be armsmaster? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they stop having an effect after around 2400.

Wow 2400!
What is a good way to get a ton of stats on it quickly? I did the statistician like you guys said and that worked out great! Edit: Also what are good points for teachers on a staff, and gladiators on a belt, and then brokers on whatever. Want to know how much I should be farming ;p This message was edited by djgamer07 on Aug 23 2007.

re: Disgaea General Discussion 2 |

It might be best to find a Statician guide or something, because I don't know what levels they max payout, at...
Well, CoO3 is now a great place for me to get levels, AND money...since I combo enemies, I get around 4 - 6 on the bonus guage, and each money bonus is around 300K - 350K, each item is worth about 150K - 600+K (one was 1.2 million), and there is a ton of EXP and stuff...The bonus guage itself gives out over 100K...But I'm now starting to get TOO good at killing enemies, and am losing some of the bonus guage (I started at like 6, now I'm getting 4's...better take out weak characters now neh? What I'm going to do, is save up money, and get a ton of good items for the characters needed to get the majin class unlocked (I'll also take them out so they can enjoy the generous EXP bonuses... But Two Worlds comes out tomorrow, and if I can convince my mom to let me stay here for a few more days, I'm going to be playing that a lot...I'll try to get on here sometime, in case you need Help neh? -------------------
