Yes. I was just thinking this today. I was Chelsea and I had 70million to spend and Valencia would not go below 100million for David Villa and AC Milan wanted a similar amount for Pato. Both these clubs are struggling financially IRL and would easily accept 40million+
Werder Bremen wanted 20mil for Mesut Ozil and 16mil for Seb Boensich. ------------------- ![]() Banner courtesy of gIuDESIGN (DeviantArt)

In the build up to the game, SI commented on how the AI teams will be more competitive when it comes to signing the best youngsters (E.g. Delfouneso) so that we just don't go out and sign all the best players under the age of 18.
And if you were Milan or Valencia, would you sell Pato or David Villa for 40 million? Both guys are pretty much the man on their respective teams, so it stands to reason that you're going to have pay f-loads to get them. And just on Villa, I had a little muck around with City yesterday just to see who you could sign with them and I managed to get Villa for 55 million + Vladimir Weiss. If you can't get your desired target, move onto the next player and attempt to buy him like a real manager would or try and negotiate a more suitable price. For 70 million, you could probably buy; Dzeko, Luis Suarez and Antonio Cassano and still have cash left over. ------------------- Living brain, what kind of dork wants that?...With any luck, the kind of dork who'll be operating on your prostate someday!

quote enzuguriNice. I would think the length of the players contract would play a role in the asking price as well. 3 years plus, expect to pay over the odds unless the player is unhappy for some reason (Club not doing well in league, can't stand team mate etc). ------------------- ![]()
