Hey guys, is it me or is this a new feature? Was just looking at John Barnes, who is the manager at Watford on my game, and saw that I could sign him. Thought it was quite cool, but he wasn't interested in joining.

I think you could always sign managers from before ...?

Or at least you can always offer intl manager position (U-21, U-19, etc) to other managers. But if you try to get other manager as part of your backroom stuff, most likely they are not interested

The option to sign managers who have a low reputation has been a feature for years. Most don't sign though. Apartfrom Keegan and Venables.

There's always been an option to offer an unemployed manager a contract to come in as part of your back room team, but I have yet to succeed as they always reject - no matter how attractive the contract you offer.

It's realistic in part but also a tad unrealistic. Obviously Frank Rijkaard is unlikely to join as an assistant manager or first team coach, but a promising lower league manager would welcome the opportunity to work at a club like Arsenal for example as they would probably be better paid and have the opportunity to learn by working with a higher calibre of staff and players.

yea this feature has been in fm for a long time!! e.g. i signed marcello lippi to assistant manager for my estonia team in 07

It's different for national team jobs though, as a person can be a member of staff for a national side while still coaching at another side, like players.

mate dont go anywhere near Barnes, I am a tranmere fan and my nan could be a better manager/coach!!
