Yes, and I think it's crap. One of the worst games I've ever played...it doesn't even come close to representing the TV series, or even being all that playable.

hmmmmmmmm havent seen it yet. maybe because I live in the US? Well I dont think we'll get it over here because Battlebots is our main show, and ppl would think that RW is a rip off.

re: UK released

Considering that robot wars was the first ever robot competition in the world and the first robot battling game is Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction the prequeal to Extreme Destruction that would be a big misconseption.

re: UK released

What a crock... The first game was great apart from having to wait 3 weeks for the patch before i could play it. I thought this would be loads better but no. It's basically the same game with a slightly updated graphics engine that is looking dated.

Things that are wrong...

The physics are still bad, actually even worse. See Sir K fly through the air?

JP's Commentary is even worse than the first one, now it has nothing to do with what's going on screen at all. He says more but if it's got nothing to do with the action why bother? Push sombody out of the arena or down the pit and he doesn't seem to notice, on the show he would go ballistic.

Build your own bot? I don't think so, you'll have to buy the only one you can afford. Build your own and you'll be creamed time and time again.

The build section is more limited than before, you have to unlock stuff. I realise in the first one you could build a robot after winning one comp that was almost indestrucable but then this is back to the crap physics...

Improvments..

Now you get JP giving a rundown on each robot, this is quite good but you'll end up skipping it after 2 or 3 times.

The levels are more detailed, as are the robots. How ever there are graphic bugs.

More of the robots of the show are in there, but why not all of them? 3D models do not take up much space even with the textures. The made up robots look as crap as the first one.

More building styles, but you have to unlock them. This means the first thing you build will still look generic.

The REF BOT, yep he's there but he just get's in the way and behaves totally unrealistically.

There is an arcade mode where you can play sumo basho amongs others, however there is no reward for doing so and no hiscores so why bother?

After all the problems with the first one this should have been perfect, i'm pinning my hopes on robot arena 2.

re: UK released

Well there are alot of bugs granted and i'm trying hard to think of something good about.... Ok it is unrealistic and Hypno-Disk can not even self-right? Hypno-Disk does not do enough damage and the RPM is lower then it actually is.

re: UK released

Indeed, I got to the final of one of the competitions and the Ref Bot pushed me down the pit. The comentator does re act to what happens in the game just with a big delay.

re: UK released

i heard that the game does not allow people to change the control keys, is that true?
If it is, can someone please list them down so i can get a picture whether the keys are user friendly. Because in AOD, they keys can be customised.

re: UK released

I actually quite like this game. I used the trainer to get loads of money and the savegame to unlock everything and now I am playing it all the time. I'm gonna use some of the cheats (thanx thepimp!) now, so I will be playing it even more! Internet play will make it MUCH better and if they got the stats right it would be better to play. Also the weapons falling off is unrealistic, they should just dent and stop working. The armour should only fall off after REALLY heavy damage, the rest of the time it should dent. Also, bring back the lifting arms, and the stats menu along the bottom of the Robot Build screen.

OK, I think that's all, C ya!

re: UK released

Barry, what you said about JP is not true.

Its not that he hasn't noticed that a robot has been pitted, or FOOTA, its just...

1: There is no commentary for a FOOTA
2: I think you'll find that he DOES notice that a robot has been pitted. The pit has to be fully lowered though before he reacts, like AOD.
