BSN\BSS to Champions League Winners Challenge - 2010

--- The Challenge ---

It's exactly what it says in the title. Every year people try to do this, so this thread can be for players hints, tactics help, boasting about achievements and general support for probably the longest, hardest, most rewarding game on Football Manager.

--- The Rules ---

First off, you have to start with a team from the Blue Square South or Blue Square North. It must be a team in these divisions at the start of the game. You must manage this team from before the first game of the first season.
Teams must not be edited or modified in any way. Kits can be changed but anything affecting gameplay is not allowed.
It's really up to you, but I would say that any form of 'Genie Scout' or something similar isn't allowed. It makes this challenge too easy. Attribute masking can be taken off.
You can load up any leagues and players.
Your reputation must begin on automatic.
Countries can be managed to keep the game fresh, but the club team must be managed from start to finish.

--- The New Rules ---

As you can now manage down to 10th tier in the English leagues, the challenge now caters for this. The challenge is a minumum of BSS\BSS. You can manage from lower down, provided you stay with the same side that you have managed from the beginning of the first game of the first season.

I will be adding some sort of leaderboard, and anybody coming from lower divisions will be acknowledged. I imagine at some point another Lower Leagues challenge will crop up for the lower leagues, but I'm happy to cater for them here until that happens.

In the following few posts I'll do a list of teams and information, as well as posting peoples achievements (although this isn't a competition, so there arn't any points or anything) and some players and tactics if people want to upload them.

Good luck and keep us all up to date with your progress!

I'm planning on doing miracles to Maine Road who are miles down the footballing ladder so my task will be much harder....that's if I manage to do that well

Have just started this with Bishop's Stortford, as it's the closest town to where my grandparent's live that are actually in the BSS/BSN.

Sorry for it being in French, but no option of language choice here in France

Starting as Corby, just because I like the name. And I like trouser presses.

Predicted 13th in the first season, which I think is fair. There's a few good players there, but the squad's very old and a lot of them are on very good wages. Fortunately they're all out of contract at the end of the season, so I'm going to be having a massive clear out then. First season I'm just going to see if there's anyone worth keeping on and do the best I can.

--Bishop's Stortford--

Ok, the league is about to start and I thought I would update you on my pre-season and how it went. So it all started really badly with a loss to my reserves and then a 4-0 loss to Barnsley.
I thought the team was a loss cause, but a win against Glen Hoddle's Academy, booste the reams confidence.
A small, but not so bad defeat against league two side Morecambe wasn't bad and following this, the team manage two wins in a row against Berwick and Hucknall.
Our last two friendlies wern't the best but still reasonable results.
Are two strikers, Smith and Sheringham played well, scoring 8 goals between themselves.

Transfer wise, I looked through the team, relegated all players that I did not feel would fit in the team too the reserves and brought in two players, who I had confidence would be a boost to the team. They were also needed to cover up, positions were players were lacking.

Tactic:

Was going to post this but went offline and couldn't come on for a few days. Anyway Huzzer did a fantastic job last year.

I started as Dover but haven't done anything so far.

re: BSNBSS to Champions League Winners Challenge - 2010

Got bored of my Man Utd save, so started this challenge. Am being AFC Telford, although, I've lost my first two friendly games.
