Lay Hard and Play Hard |
|
The idea of this plan is to generate a slow and steady income through lay'ing bets. This has been going on since last Friday (30/11/2009) and tend to lay 10-15 bets a day on virtually anything. I have no system with regards of what to lay and what not to lay however there was a staking plan devised by another member, wba_4_eva which is as follows : £5 on odds 1.01-2.50 £3 on odds 2.51-5.00 £2 on odds 5.01 and above However on occasion I will break these. The starting bank for this thread was £50 and the idea is that every time the running total reach £60 to withdraw £10. I will update the table in this thread every ten bets as well as posting the bets as I go. The reason for this thread is to share my bets with others, let people drop me feedback and possibly give me some tips If you are wondering about any of the football related bets that aren't involving a team, i.e. 0-0 correct scores just ask what they were with the bet number. Also some of the bank figures are blank and generally wrong near the start as I was operating under the assumption that Betfair took 10% commission as opposed to the 5% they take.. figures are 100% correct from bet 28 onwards The table as it currently stands: Accidently bet on Chookie Hamilton twice This message was edited by Blue Moon on Nov 08 2009. ------------------- I had to go along with all this reclusive genius stuff, she's going to be very upset when she finds out I'm a reclusive wanker

Good to see this started, I'll be following. You got a SS of your latest bets on your spreadsheet?
I'm going to start a new blog tomorrow. Might do it with a starting bank of £100. ------------------- If you're interested in betting on sports, join us in the sports betting forum!

Is this with Betfair? Underated advised me to take up the laying system but I'm still a little confused by the idea of how it works exactly.
I'm currently looking at giving Bristol Rovers 3/1 odds at a £20 backers stake. Does that mean that the person that chooses to take the bet will have to place £20 to get those odds and if they lose it goes to me, and if they win I pay £60 out? ------------------- ![]()

quote U_TurnYou mean you'll lay £20? in that case you'll have a fairly large liability but can only win £20 My next lay is 0-0 correct score between Universidad de Chile v Fluminense RJ ------------------- I had to go along with all this reclusive genius stuff, she's going to be very upset when she finds out I'm a reclusive wanker

Yeah, like I said, the cost would be £60 and my win would be £20.
quote UnderatedSomeone has to accept this bet though, right? So if no one accepts then nothing happens? It's basically like double chance betting. ------------------- ![]()

Yeah, it's like double chance betting with football but with horses laying can be great. Much easier to pick losers than winners
If no one accepts the bet then you'll get your liability back. What odds are BC to win generally? If they're less than 3/1 then it'll most definitely get matched but if you're offering worse odds than the bookies then it most likely won't unless the odds drop significantly in running. ------------------- If you're interested in betting on sports, join us in the sports betting forum!

The odds are far better than 3/1 on them winning. The odds are actually 9/4 on the lay. Plus it's Bristol Rovers, not City
Sounds great with the horses though, but I don't know horses ------------------- ![]()

It is great with horses... it's where I tend to make the most.. a good day such as yesterday which was 11 out of 11 on horses returned £20 odd I think

I'll post as many as I can as I go befre the race but they come quickly on top of each other and I tend to leave it fairly late to make my lay.. use the Ladbrokes commentary.. they explain stuff from time to time and you can generally pick up a lot from it...
And also I mean in a field of 8 you could probably drop a pin and pick a loser ------------------- I had to go along with all this reclusive genius stuff, she's going to be very upset when she finds out I'm a reclusive wanker

quote Blue MoonYep, and we can also use basic stats to our advantage so it's not too hard. You just have to make sure that when you pick a winner, you don't go chasing that lost money. Judgement becomes shit when chasing so you need to have discipline. You got your goal BM. =) ------------------- If you're interested in betting on sports, join us in the sports betting forum!

I've chased when I've lost before. Definitely went against my better judgement when I bet on Leeds, a certianty game to everyone else but a game I knew we'd slip up on. I won't make that mistake again.
