you have bad luck like me it took me 40+ tries to get the chest to spawn -.- i had more bad luck with getting tournesol i has to chain 300+ cerberus for 1 hell-gate's flame lol.

i was chaining 300 chain 6 times(somehow i killed another monster on this chain , my luck) to get 3 at the last one when i had already 3

easy, kill just cerebrus and tartarus, go through save crystal sector without touching it. patience is ultimte weapon

Hell gate's flame is a monograph drop so chaining doesn't really help.

Haha, same thing happened to me. Is it just me or do we have alot alike?

I know chaining deosn't help with this drop as it's a monograph drop but I was up to chain 246 when I got my first one, then they started dropping regularly. Only 10 more Cerberus and I had 6 Hell Gate's flames.

On a similar point, I chained about 300 Leynirs and still didn't get one wargods band. I thought I had all my monographs but didn't realise I didn't have the hunters monograph. After buying that I got 6 in about 40 chains!!

Even though monograph drops doesnt needs chaining, i believe chaining would be a better choice as the monsters will tend to drop more items when chained thus increasing more chance to get the required item.

No the percentage doesn't change no matter how many items are dropped each time. I thought that at first but it isn't the case with monograph drops.

but chainning makes foes drop more items. one of them could be thinny what you're looking for.

Unfortunately, I don't really have the patience for these Ultimate Weapons and Accessories. It seems like I don't have very much luck either. I've tried multiple times to get Excalibur. I've tried Floating over the Trap, setting off the Trap, with/without the Diamond Armlet and I've tried to zone out, I only get the first chest with the gill. I have over 3 million gill so that doesn't really help. I guess this is supposed to be fun, but my patiences is running out. But it's great to know it's not only me!

sometimes its just pure luck. I took 2 days playing hrs each day just to get enough hell gates flame. At same time took me only one try to get the mimic to spawn when i wanted to steal the DeathBringer.

i wouldn't wear diamond armlet for excalibur. you could get sage's ring, and it's great help.and you can easly level up there. i leveled from level 50 to 59.

yeah but chaining makes you get better drops i got 99 franciscas from chaining them they sell for 5750 gil each.

easier way to get wargods band is to steal it from the rare game you need to start phon coast hunt club side-quest first
go to nam-yensa sandsea/yellow sands and steal it from the victanir (40% chance of it appearing)its a rare steal though so get your thief cuffs on when you steal of it run 2 zones then return to steal another.
