oh sorry... that what i have done to other bosses which put the shield on. i'm not sure about him. but maybe i can't check it now. could someone try it and tell me and say if it works? 'cause i've already deafet him.

Has anyone ever tried these Strategies near the end of the fight?

1. The Reflect Strategy, equip Mirror Mail and cast Scathe on your characters? Darkja should bounce off you and Zodiark will absorb it, but you would be casting Scathe times 3? (I may try this on lesser fiends first)

2. Summon Ultima or Chaos? I saw a video of someone using Zalera on him? You would have to equip that accessory (I forgot the name) that allows you to use Gil to cast magic though)

I wish there was a save Crystal closer so I can try these myself.

you could also try(if possible) put silence on enemy on the end of fight. but i'm nearly sure that everyone knows that

I just ended up taking it slow and steady, and finally beat Zodiark the third time around. It took a little longer than 1 minute though. Zodiark's great though.

33 seconds ha! i beat him in 32 seconds

I beat Zodiark in 4 seconds with my eyes closed and my hands tied behind my back while singing the National Anthem.

27 seconds... 2 quickenings and they both got luminescence.and considering they hit 150000 damage each he was lowered health. Then i just came in and hit him with a masamune quick combo and bye bye

Has anyone succeeded in the 1 minute strategy WITHOUT the zodiac spear AND without tournesol?

I was ALMOST able to do it, at level 99. I think my mistake was casting the buffs on the party back at the save crystal. Maybe not, but it was definitely a short-lived berserk. Almost had him but my berserk wore off the tanks.

When I watch the 1 minute videos, I see the party using zodiac spear and tournesol. Even then, I've seen the fight end just as the script log was coming up that Zodiark readies Battle Cry. In other words, the party beat him just 2 seconds away before Zodiark got his defense up.

Well, I ended up equipping Opal rings which are a best buddy to have if you are beating him after Battle Cry. You can take your choice of a number of magic options with those on.

He didn't attack much the second time I fought him after equipping the rings. He just sat there and I had plenty of time to cast Scathe. Then I realized with the right equipment you can beat him without major weapons or a lot of HP.

I had i very hard time with this Fight. It must have took me at least two tries and ten minutes to defeat it. but i had no stratagy

I did brag about 32 seconds but it actually took a lot of leveling up and losing to a mere purobolos about 9377648677 times. So actually, hard, very hard.

Zodiark's well cool. I killed him a while ago but it took a long time. I had no fancy weapons and actually used three golden axes over two ultima blades and a ragnarok. At the end i summoned ultima three times and used two scathe motes. He was pretty low in critical though cos of a quickening. I don't think scathe will reflect off you when you have mirror mail or reflect status on cos it is non elemental.
