If you have the feather and you are just having trouble catching the bird try this:

Here is how you do it, get ahead of the birds path and hide behind a pillar. When it gets near you have to angle your approach so that as it speeds up you intercept it. However, if you angle to far ahead of it it will just double back and you will have to get ahead of it and try again. It usually takes me a couple times to time it right.

Good luck.

You're both wrong, just walk up behind it and it won't run.

I mean WALK, not run, by just slightly moving the Analog stick.

So, are you saying that you don't need the feather of the flock?

Or are you saying that one cannot run out from behind a pillar to catch it?

Since those are the only two statements we made and you say we are both worng I can only conclude that you are either ignorant of the facts or you are just trying to be a jerk. Which is it? As for just walking up to it, I don't know if that works or not. However, unlike you, I will not comment on something I know nothing about.

Good day ' '

re: Side quests Cockatrice Rangling

OK then, Wizard has just made me decide to fix my last post, seriously.

FIrst you need to get the feather of the flock from Giza Plains.

Then go to Eruyt and get the Cockatrice there.

Go to Rabanastre and walk up to the Cockatrice( It really does work).

He'll ask whether "She's" gone back. "She" is the Cockatrice from Eruyt.

That's all right? Sorry about how I made the last post sound and I have done this side quest BTW.

re: Side quests Cockatrice Rangling

Actually He does not ask if 'she' has gone back until after you have already talked to it on two prior occasions.

First you find him in an alcove just sitting there, you exchange words and he takes off running. Then (and this is the part Tina was asking about) you have to talk to him again. This is where I said you had to ambush him (can you walk up to him during this time? I don't know). Then he will once again be standing still and you can just walk up to him and he'll as about the other cockatrice and give you something (diamond sword if my memory is correct) if the other one is back at Giza.

Yes walking works alright, he doesn't seem to run if you're walking and he walks much slower than you do.

Diamond sword is the weapon he gives you and do you like antagonizing me?

re: Side quests Cockatrice Rangling

Lol..petty arguments. Both of the methods do work, Ive done them both, but they both have a problem.

When walking up behind the cockatrice, he wont run, but sometimes the talk icon wont appear when you're walking at a certain spot behind him. And you walk about the same pace as the cockatrice.

The ambush method works as well but if you mess up the first time you have to run around to the other side and try again there. And if u do happen to miss again (hopefully not ) You gotta run around to the other side again and try there. I think u can try atleast two times at either side.

So both methods do work, just depends on how impatient you are. I use the ambush method though. Because Im not good at making Vaan walk for long periods of time. Ill accidently tilt the joystick too far and then poof! Im left eating cockatrice feathers

Failure...the natural consequence of trying.
