Ok I was playing Final Fantasy 12 this morning. Finishing the Cactoid sidequest. And my mom says it's time to go the lake (Family vacation thing) and i say ''OK JUST LET ME SAVE!!'' like all other kids would do. She comes in the room and starts hurrying me and i'm like ok! So I save and I pull out my joystick (OMFG!!!! WHY???) because I always take it out and put it beside my ps2.I look at the screen and it says ''Failure to save'' and im like ''prolly some glitch.'' So when I got back I see my save is corrupted. Is there any possible way i could get my save back? OMFG IT TOOK ME ALL DAY TO GET ACRTURUS !!!! HELP LOL!!!

Do you have any other files? It's a good idea to have two files and save to file 1 and next time file 2 and then back at 1 and 2, you know. I have often used to do this since you can always overwrite your file or mess it up by doing something wrong in the game or like in your case a corrupt file. You should do this.
I have also backed all my important files to a second memory card. I heard Grandmaster messed up his file with the 99 Danjuros etc. It sucks..

Sorry to say it, but your file is gone. The only way to recover it would have been to save it again before you left, but alas....gotta restart. Quitting wont solve anything if you still want to play the game. Maybe just take the time to accept you have to restart.

Nope, you dont have to hit the memory card to corrupt the save. Pulling out the controller will corrupt it just the same. You should read the little message that comes up whenever you save a game

It does, I cant recall at this moment whether FF12 does it, but I do remember it showing up on other games Ive played.

Im not sure how the controller is involved, but it is.

well okay, personally I always thought you shouldn't touch it coz you can accidently hit the memory card. and I just don't see any other explanation honestly..

and more than half of PS2/PS1 games don't have this message.

It says do not remove/insert memory card or Dualshock 2 controller right before you load, which is really too fast to read, but when you save it shows up the entire time as the yellow bar is going across the screen.

True, you never said that, but saying "most games" doesnt exactly narrow it down to any specifics.

Not touching the controller is pretty much a given to me, as I seem to remember it coming up in alot of games, though maybe its just because most of the games that I play for long periods of time have the message.

allright.. I just tried Suikoden3, it only says "don't remove memory card" during saving.

dunno, I clearly remember many games didn't say anything about controllers.

As mentioned above (numerous times ) chances are that when you REMOVED your controller you hit your Memory Card and it dislodged slightly or something, corrupting the save file. My suggestion is to start from an earlier save if you have one and start a process of keeping two saves or - well restart. That's pretty much all you can do unfortunately.

We had a similar discussion before...I think you might be able to download gamesaves from certain sites..gamefaqs might be one of them..not sure how to do it but you can research it.

I think you can use a usb drive to download the gamesaves then load it onto your memory card. Gameshark might have some as well.
