We bought quickening for Fran and Vaan, but they don't deal much damage at all. Like maybe, 50 hp?

are you doing multiple quickenings in one attack?



If not, look at the bottom right of your screen during the quickening animation. You should see 3 bars that represent each active member of your party. To the left of each one might be a button. If you see a button there and press that button, you can do another quickening. Sometimes you get the option to instead charge up your magic bar. Though sometimes you won't get a button at all.

If you don't have any choice at all, press the R2 shoulder button (or was it R1?) to get another set of choices, and hopefully another button to press.

Do three attacks of the same level, and it will do a super attack!

When I first use them I got those problems too..I was getting so mad at that...

Also, be sure to chain quickenings in the correct order, so you don't lose time...

I chained them together, but they did a tiny bit more damage. I got Balthier one, too. And now Fran has 2 quickenings. Isn't it ranks, not levels? Because Fran's second one, Whip Kick is rank 2.

it could be ranks instead of levels. I forget. The grey cells aren't firing.....


I'm into Crisis Core nowadays so I could easily be wrong.

It's ranks...I'm positive...Chaining to quickenings in a powerful enemy, won't do that much...

Quickenings 101 coming your way.

Firstly, ranks are just how powerful the single quickening is. 1 being the lowest, and 3 being the highest.

Using a single quickening, no matter what rank, is useless.

To chain Quickenings, you have to press the highlighted button at the bootom right of your screen.

If it's not highlighted, use the R2 button to "Shuffle" them and possibly give you new options.

Quickenings are only use-able when you have as much mist charges as the rank of the quickening available.

To recharge your Mist Charges, there is an option of Mist charge that can appear. That will refill all your mist charges, and shuffle the options again.

Last thing though, if you want to do even more damage, chain Quickenings into Concurrences, this will give you that final Sting to defeat strong opponents.
