"Auto-Leveling Trick" - leave PS2 "on" overnight to gain 50+ levels |
|
Well, first "the theory" that it could be done.. and the experiments followed, until some people perfected a strategy and proved that indeed, gambits can be used to exploit weaknesses of the game (or a least a particular monster) and turn it into a 100% Working Trick that everyone can call "Auto-Leveling"..
Here's how it works: (credit to blade723) This is a trick to exploiting the endless spawning of Ghast by Negalmuur to gain endless Levels, EXP and LP. Step 1: Preparations. -Get all of your characters to at least LV. 30 -Equip them with the most up to date weapons and armors. Best to acquire Deathbringers. -Having all 3 mist charges is recommended because of the MP boost you get. But this is not required. -A short while after defeating Mateus you will be able to buy remedies at loot shops. Buy 10-20 depending on how long you want to level up. Also buy as many Smelling Salts as you can. -Get "Remedy Lore 3" on the liscence board. It allows remedy to cure Doom. Step 2: Gambit Setup. Character 1 (Party Leader): Ally: Any - Raise Ally: HP < 60% - Curaga Ally: Any - Smelling Salts Ally: Any - Esuna Ally: Party Leader - Remedy Foe: HP < 3,000 - Attack Foe: HP > 10,000 - Haste (Optional. This is to speed up Negalmuur and speed up leveling.) Self - Charge Character 2: Ally: Any - Raise Ally: HP < 60% - Curaga Ally: Any - Smelling Salts Ally: Any - Esuna Ally: Party Leader - Remedy Self - Decoy Foe: HP < 3,000 - Attack Self - Charge Character 3: Ally: Any - Raise Ally: HP < 60% - Curaga Ally: Any - Smelling Salts Ally: Any - Esuna Ally: Party Leader - Remedy Self - Decoy Foe: HP < 3,000 - Attack Self – Charge NOTE: If available, use "Self:MP<10% - Charge". The setup above was designed for lower levels as Self:MP<10% gambit is not yet for sale early in the story. Step 3: Clear the Stillshrine of Miriam Finish the whole stage at least to the point that the "Sword of Judgment" is lifted from the path in the "Ward of the Sword-King", this is required to be able to clear the whole "Ward of the Sword-King" of any enemies. Step 4: Hunt for Negalmuur. In "Ward of the Sword King" which is the corridor at West from Save Crystal (go bottom from Save Crystal), kill all enemies there, exit and re-enter. Keep re-entering it might take up to 20 or more tries before you encounter Negalmuur but each time you leave the area make sure it is totally cleared of ALL enemies. Check until the southmost area near the Big Sword statue. Step 5: Reap the Rewards. During the battle with Negalmuur with the setup above mentioned he will summon a Ghast every 4-8 seconds and your characters will keep attacking them only because they have less than 3,000HP and Negalmuur has over 18,000HP with each kill you get 1LP and about 340EXP per character (Assuming you have a party of 3) also this can be further enhanced with accessories that multiply the EXP and LP gained he will endlessly summon the Ghast. Remedies will only be used when Doom is cast on the leader. If any other status effect is cast on the leader like Petrify, Esuna will be used. Because the other characters have Decoy the leader having Doom cast on him will be rare so not to many remedies will be used. Once you have gotten to the point where you want to stop DON'T kill him leave the room and save in the save crystal in the next room and re-set your game this will let you encounter him in the future. Note that you can save your game in the blue crystal whenever you want. Go back to the area and Negalmuur will always be there waiting to summon more Ghast. You'll have to try and try.. sometimes it takes me more than 20 times exiting and re-entering the area. DOn't worry, once he appears, you'll get to reap the rewards.
After I got 999 chains, i tried to save in the blue crystal and went back to the area, he's still there. Although i think there's also a risk that he'll be gone, so i wouldn't recommend this. ------------------- WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITH 3,170,842 GIL??? ![]() Yahoo ID: weztwar

I just kept walking from the save crystal, to the ward of the sword-king...
...it should be noted that you have to walk all the way down to the statue at the end of the hall, where it T's off, to get him to appear. I got him! -------------------

Genius! This is a brilliant way to abuse the Gambit System and everything else the game has to offer. I like this setup.
Hats Down to this trick. ------------------- ![]() "His Chin looks like Balls, you want me to cover that too?"

quote HiToKiRi_BoY_BaTo1boohoo...if you've already beaten the game, and have nothing else left to do, why not easily level your characters to 99. there are exploits like this in every final fantasy game. -------------------

Not all Final Fantasy Games have Gambit System, this is the only one that I know that has it.
If you're talking about other Exploits that's another story to tell, but not on this one. And by the way, I chose not to beat the game yet, I'm the type of RPG gamer who wants the most out of it. Getting everything in my Arsenal and every title, items, etc. And I'm not that much of a hurry to finish it. ------------------- ![]() "His Chin looks like Balls, you want me to cover that too?"

I said exploits, not gambits.
example, in FF7 you can use a turbo controller and farm some snake in some swamp. in tactics advance, you can attack your own guys to gain exp, and use some spell that negates all damage. there's little tricks like that in all of them. -------------------

Ugh....
We all know that, other Final Fantasy games leveling tricks. But what we're talking about here is usage Gambit, how to make good use of your Gambits, and how to level up your characters w/o spending time with the controller personally. I think the build is great especially for those who are desperate enough to raise their levels drastically. Are you even reading the posts? Read and Think before you post, okay? ------------------- ![]() "His Chin looks like Balls, you want me to cover that too?"

Wow.... amazing loophole! Nice! I have fought this monster already, and didn't even think to just let him keep summoning the zombie guys.... I think I'll have to go back and give it a try for a bit! Thanks!

Do you think it would matter if I use the door at the very south as the re-entry point or do you have to use just the save crystal area? Did any of you use the south door? I just run frm the door to the crystal but its been about 40 trips...
